I've tried asking on the Answers HQ, to no response, and had the same lack of contact through an EA support ticket. So here I am to ask for some help.
Recently I snapped up all the DLC I was missing for Mass Effect 2. I downloaded and installed it from this very site.
Now onto why I am asking here instead of over in the ME2 section. Mass Effect 2 doesn't require Origin, it just uses a simple disc check but Mass Effect 3 does need it to run.
Every time I start Mass Effect 3 I am prompted by Origin to download the Mass Effect 2 DLC.
I can either click cancel and continue to ME3 or accept the download. Problem is that Origin seems to detect that the DLC is installed, so doesn't download anything but small .XML files. The buttons turn to Install but clicking them does nothing.
All seems well until I restart Origin, where it prompts me to download the DLC all over again. The cycle just repeats.
It is getting to the point where I am tempted to just to hunt down a third party 'fix' to enable ME3 to run without Origin, especially since the damn thing doesn't update my achievements or multi-player challange progress correctly.
Has anyone else suffered this and managed to find a solution?
Origin wants to download ME2 DLC when I start Mass Effect 3

I had a similar issue with da2 dlc. Kept asking for the language and had no idea what it was doing for a while. Eventually it fixed itself once it had downloaded everything and I had picked a language about 20 times. Not sure if this helps or completely unrelated.

Sounds like the same thing to me and it is frustrating. I am tempted to uninstall ME2 and install it through Origin to see if this will fix the issue.
Don't fancy the download wait though.

Tried it a few more times and the prompts continue.
I'm just going to get a third party 'fix' and be done with Origin.

You are using Origin - there's your problem.

Absolutely no other choice for Mass Effect 3, unless as I said I get a third party 'fix' in order disable it.AlexMBrennan wrote...
