But, I don't like giant spiders as they seem to have no biological basis whatsoever to exist in TheDAS-- not even a fantasy biological basis. And, I'm a fan of "believable fantasy" creatures that are somewhat credible in their fantasy environment (Titain Quest did pretty well in that category).

Moreover, what do all these monsters "eat"? The biomass of "prey" animals -- even if one includes humanoids -- would not support so many giant predators -- particularly in caves (some other RPG have the same problem).

I dunno, deep stalkers seem to be fairly abundant as a base food source.  Also, there are an unlimited number of darkspawn to feed on,

Please stop acting butthurt. I was expressing my anger about the spider and from the replies this thread received I see that I am not the only one. Also several walktrough videos on youtube show that this spider part in particular is extremely hard. Maybe read the definition of troll again and stop calling everybody a troll...

Actually I always found that spiders+Emissaries battle to be one of if not the most difficult battle in the game.



It is if I recall 2 emissaries (1 Hurlock and 1 Genlock) and 2+ spiders. You cannot avoid fighting the lot of them as they are together. You can line of sight the emissaries around a cave wall to have them all chase you down but between the spider CC and (web+overwhelm) and the emissary crushing prisons, you are going to get cced, it's just a matter of managing who it ends up on and trying to blow up the emissaries before they fireball you.

I finally decided to go that bulid for a mage on this playthrough.

My sense of vindication is great.  Screw you, emisaries.  For all the times you crushing prisoned my tank before I had a way out..  this is my revenge.
