In 2002 a game came out from a company called BioWare. It was a phenomenon as far as games go. The developers dared to leave included in the game a toolset for people to create wonderful worlds. Now, 11 years later the community is still going strong, with new servers still popping up overnight. The beauty of this is that there's no lack of worlds for you to choose from. The sad part is that these new servers usually don't get a chance to show off their talented scripters, wonderful builders, and immersive dungeon masters. As part of a team of these, it is my duty,
and my absolute pleasure to announce the birth of The Shattered Realms.

We're a server that's opening our doors on the ninth of August, and we have something you really need to see! Let's iron out some quick stats, and I'll weave you more of a tale.

Area Count: Over 200
Custom Content: More than you can shake a stick at.
-Custom classes
-Custom spells
-Custom feats
-Custom scripts
World Type: Roleplay, Social-Lite
Player Limit: 90, will expand as needed.
Levels: 1-40, 40 taking anywhere from a day to a week.
PVP: Heavy but optional
DMs: 10+

If any of the above frightens you, please read on. We're going at this server in a completely unique way to our spiritual predesessor, Isle of Styss. In TSR, Roleplay comes first. Whether you're a Nirayan Trooper, practicing to get the
perfect shot with your rifle, or a freak from the Shattered south, every story is welcome in TSR. (Provided that if makes sense with the setting.)

Here's a little history on the realms to wet your whistle:

Niraya was once a speeling fishing village, content to their ways until the War of Reckoning. Ever since Niraya has evolved and thrived over a span of 50 years, moving into an industrial age. They're currently working on steam powered
weaponry, and have almost perfected the Flintlock and rifle, though will never replace the sword and bow.

South of Niraya the world turns in to wastelands, catering to all kinds of freaks and mutants. Once this land was home to the Tensian faction, and after the war all those that were Tens supporters and empathizers were banished to the
Shattered south. Feuding warloards control settlements, and they are always pushing north, trying to access the Nirayan fertile land.

Far away, out at sea the continent of Dusk drifts closer to the Shattered Continent, and the Dominion has their sights on Niraya, though there is a truce -- tensions are high.

All three of the factions listed above are starting locations for new players, and can be played right from the start. As mentioned previously we will have heavy PVP, pitting every faction against each other, in efforts to control points throughout the realms. This PVP is something truly unique. That said, let's talk about some of the custom features that TSR is bringing you.

The Warzone:
-The Warzone is all about controlling certain points on the map. Factions will fight using our long list of
classes, feats and spells, as well as siege weaponry, and a possible expansion into the air as the technology
rises. For example, if your faction occupies the Abbey, you get access to a unit of Monks to help you win the war.

Player Housing:
-TSR has a system in the works for players to upload their own homes or businesses to the module, through scripts.

Quests:
-TSR has a quest system to keep the
player immersed, even through the grind to get to level 40. We make
it fun.

PVE:
-TSR has some of the best dungeons either currently made or in development, with unique bosses, and epic
minions to slap around.

Loot:
-TSR has a truly random loot generator, similar to those seen in Diablo. On top of this we have an enchantment system to make items even better.

There are tons of other features, but I would not be a very good story teller, if I didn't invite you to figure it out on your own. Come join us at

http://tsr.hyperboards.com/

and be a part of our world.

The game has changed. Your move, Community.

They let me log in to a sneak peek of the module, and WOW! I don't think I've ever been so impressed by a server. There's a lot of good work that went into the lore. It also has some really nice tilesets and areas. The scripted content is also incredible - there's dungeons that flood with lava, and tons of new feats and classes. They've made a lot of changes to the game, and buffed up a lot of weak classes (rather than nerfing things into the ground like most servers do). I can't wait to give this place a try when it goes live in three days.

Played for about 6 hours on launch day. Most fun I've had in NWN in months. Would highly recommend, folks.

Thank you all for the warm welcome and the kind words. As of last night we've had about 80 unique log ins, with constant 20's on player count. Thanks for making this a great launch, and here's to having a good future!

It looks like you're requiring people to register an account before they can look at anything about the world?

Looking through the haks. Lots of great content and I'm glad to see lots of Q stuff put to good use. When I have more time I'll have to check out the server and see it in game.

This server's still going strong! We've added several active new DMs to the team who are running fun plots, and we've been very aggressive about quickly fixing bugs as they are discovered. So there's never been a better time to check it out, or give it another shot!

(TL; DR) All in all, I am not fond of this server, as I feel it is flat and has taken far too much from other servers and people without putting in enough work of its own. I also feel it is a social server, which is more used for SRP (sexual role-play), instead of the advertised role-play. I feel as though the server is too hard to get started in and too easy to level afterwards, from dying to overpowered spawns to being forced down a linier dialogue to near-instant leveling when just trying to gain a few gold pieces. The staff does not make enough of an effort to control their player base or the inevitable trolls and the players are unfriendly if their requests of private role-play is turned down.

Although I did read the entire review, I didn't feel it neccessary to post it all again.

Thanks to ImperialGenocide for taking the time to write and post this review. I don't care for SRP, and life is too short to have to deal with trolls. I think servers should be easy in the early stages, and get progressively more difficult. Not the other way around. I'll probably skip this server unless and until the staff can make some changes.

I found the review rather helpful as well, I wonder why it was removed?

I've seen this type of reaction before on PW servers. It means that the moderator who removed the post is personally and/or emotionaly involved. The "proper" response, if the post had been consdidered a "flame",  would have been to leave the posts intact and lock the thread. The moderator chose not to do that and  instead removed the post and left the thread open. Inappropriate response by the moderator.

I'm guessing Gregor and Skraaaj are both alt accounts/sockpuppets of ImperialGenocide, but anyway - a bunch of ImperialGenocide's posts were removed by Bioware for child solicitation, deliberate trolling, and plagiarism. I highly doubt that Bioware incorporated was personally and/or emotionally involved, and perhaps more to the point ImperialGenocide directly admitted that the posts were troll posts.

ImperialGenocide is a disgruntled former colleague of some of the staff with a few bones to pick. He never even played on TSR. His review, whether you found it helpful or not, was wholly a work of fiction designed to harm TSR by his own admission here and on more private channels, and not an honest and well-intentioned critique.

Give the server a try before you discount it. I don't play there as much as most of the community, but from my experience it's a relaxed, casual, fun place to play and RP. Don't let a malicious review by a guy I personally know to be, even now, attempting to destroy the server for reasons of his own small pettiness, turn you off from what could potentially be a fun experience.

I can't speak for Skraaaj, but that would be an incorrect guess for my part. I've been on these forums since not long after they opened, and I was on the old forums from 2006 until they went belly up. I believed the review to be honest and sincere, and based my responses on that belief. And I still hold that the correct response to flames and trolls is to leave the posts intact and lock the thread. Opinions vary.

I'll concur with Gregor - I've seen him posting elsewhere, he's legitimate, and I also believed the review was sincere initially.
