So I have just beated Dragon age Origins and decided I'm going to play Dragon
age Awakening. At the end of the game(Origins) I had a save which was
during the ceremony and another save which is the post campaign. Are you
suppose to transfer the post campaign or am I suppose to transfer the
save on which I'm in the ceremony?

You will get a list from which you can chose which save you want to import.
I recommend stripping good gear from the rest of the gang, place it in your inventory,
and then make a save called [ready for import]
Then select from menu, other campaigns/awakening/import/select save/advanced/ [ready for import]
You can take this a step further by making that [ready for import] save under influence of shales aura, and equip your avatar with gear that can't be imported, (WCA/Avernus robe/wicked oath/the edge dagger etc)
those items will instead be permanently attached to the avatar.
Make sure to bring a grandmaster lighning rune and a grandmaster flame rune for a couple of quests,
and in case you plan on doing GoA campaign after awakening, also bring a pair of brilliant crystals.
