BioWare is all about the cinematic storytelling, so yes, the main character will be voiced.

It would be a huge design philosophy shift for BioWare to suddenly go back to silent PC. It'd be almost as big as them doing away with companions.

That being said, apparently the article talks about how they have possibly shifted their stance on not showing the full text response beforehand at all... which is a possible circumvention of ninja paraphrases.

That would be a nice step to ameliorate their voiced PC policy.

A notch of control (or at least warning) of the exact tone (more specific than a generic term, such as aggressive) that could be used to know if your character is going to coldly threaten someone, go off the handle and start yelling at them or smack them across the face with a hammer and we may have a passable voiced dialogue system.

Unlike many people who have a problem with paraphrasing, I think the tone icons and color-coding of options are excellent tools to make informed decisions.  They just aren't ENOUGH by themselves with a paraphrase.  What is actually said PLUS the implied tone / color coding for skill used/morality adjustment is ideal, IMO.

We are not showing the full text of responses. That would be an inaccurate interpretation of what the article says.

Since backgrounds are gone, will the origins of the PC Inquisitor be more ambiguous or will his/her origins still be detailed?

Point one: Huzzah for the return of multiple playable races. That is lovely. Thank you.

Point two: The banner in the trailer I think reads: "Mark your mark on a vast world of companions, conflict and chimpanzees". Are the monkeys playable?

Ah. I apologize. I have not read the article as of yet.

I was listening to Dayvan Cowboy when I first heard the news about multiple players races.

Folks, I am a pretty austere person. But this experience has moved me to tears, and I am not entirely sure why.

I need... I need to go think for a while.

Hmm? Were backgrounds sacrificed in favor of multiple races?

I am very happy that Bioware is taking more time to make this game and I think the changes we know about are encouraging.

I wonder how the horses will work. Oblivion tried that a few years ago and IMO it wasn't a resounding success because of control issues. It#s really nice to see it attempted again, though. I hope it will work better in DAI.

There are so many games with proper horseback riding, both younger and older than Oblivion. To name a few (with a link to an example video):

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Red Dead Redemption

Assassin's Creed 3

The Witcher 3 (not yet played but the gameplay in the trailer looks impressive)

All Dragon Age Inquisition has to do is NOT look at Oblivion or Skyrim for horseback riding inspiration, but instead look at one of the 4 games I listed above.

Indeed. Which is fine, I'd prefer races and reactivity. I just don't want to boot up the game and have my character introduced as Inquisitor with no reason for why it's him.

AC3 did not do horses well.

"A lot of loose ends will be resolved in the story; expect full resolutions to things like Red Lyrium, the activities of the Grey Wardens, and Flemeth, and also Morrigan"\\

Careful what you promise there, Bioware.

Everything else looks great!

Also

" the return of multiple player races"

Am I reading this wrong or should I start rejoicing in the streets?

You are not reading that incorrectly.

I love you all.

Why not? The horses in AC3 seemed to work fine for me. Perhaps not as fluid as in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and maybe not as responsive as in Red Dead Redemption, but still leaps better than horseback riding in Oblivion or Skyrim.

"sigh" I'd rather have multiple backgrounds.
There should, at the very least, be some difference where our character comes from. I find it hard to believe an elven mage would have the same background of a human warrior.

Finished reading the summary of the article (it's so tempting to subscribe digitally but I like having hard copies...) and I am soooooooooooooooooooo looking forward to kicking the Chantry and Templars ass.

"Oh, I see. You don't want us to enter your fort? SEND IN THE BATTERING RAM!"

I am going to enjoy it too much. Muwhahahahaha!!!

Keep them going is what I say!

You can pretty much keep the Grey Warden and Red Lyrium stuff going for years as a minor subplot to be honest.

Well we don't know for sure what it entails yet. They are obviously hearing us out to add the races. I jusst need an assurance that we won't be slapped into the role of leader of this powerful force with no explanation.

I'm also very optimistic that we will see the Warden and Hawke this time around given the races confirmation.

This is a giant concern of mine as well.  I want each race to have a different origin that actually matters and make playing the different races make a difference beyond cosmetics and the occasional racial slur.

Everything about this game looks fantastic. Seems we are getting a proper rpg, and not an interactive dating movie this time. Can`t wait.

Not sure if I like what I read about the combat, though.
