As horrible as it is I'm actually starting to like the idea too.

It sounds terribly cheap, to be honest.

There better be more to it than simply slaughtering a helpless animal to elicit an undeserved emotional response.

More to it...well, it'll show you that your enemies are serious, serious dicks.

Yeah that's all I got.

I may be in the minority but I would love it if David Gaider and fellow writers could put the most bittersweet / depressing / heart-breaking things they could imagine into Dragon Age: Inquisition. =]

Do You really want to read something like : "Morrigan will die in your arms" :crying:

Only if it's a really awesome moment! Like during the final battle while everything is going good until suddenly... WHAM...everything starts falling apart around you, the teamates you fought side by side with start dying one by one. Morrigan, having confessing her love and plans of a bright future with you before the battle, throws herself into the path of an arrow that was meant for you. You cradle her in your arms as the life fades from her eyes blah blah.... =]

I'm not a writer obviously but short answer: Yeah, if it's done good, sure. And I love Morrigan as a character. As Stephen King said..."Kill your darlings.." (Meaning the characters obviously) :P

Am I reading this wrong or should I start rejoicing in the streets?

You are not reading that incorrectly.

This makes me SO happy! And the return of Varric and Cassandra is just too awesome for words. Can't wait to hear the party banter between these two!

Now that I hear it....it wouldn't be so bad. Bittersweet. Can't always have everyone( or animal) living throughout a war.  If they decide to go with that. Make it good.

Wow, this is lots of new information. Posted Image

The game is sounding really, really great to me.  I'm already planning multiple playthroughs, will I be an elf first or human.....I can't decide.  If only someone confirms companion Cullen, I'll officially be the happiest DAI fan ever!
Yeah and HORSES, they must have come through the veil........horse demons Posted Image

I have been on the fence as to how much I should care about DA:I, I have been visiting the forums more out of habit then anything else.  For what its worth, I am happy to hear this and will be a lot more optimistic when I make my weekly trip to the forums to read up on whats new.

Exactly, the noble horses death becomes motivation to do better! And you could get a new horse and name it after the old one to honor the old horse like a phoenix rising from the ashes.:D

Besides I love the companions but Dragon Age is supposed to be about the world. Even if they all die as long as they made an impact that's the important thing.

That being said I don't think they should kill of all the companions because then it would be obvious. Like Sean Bean's fate in a movie.:P

So now we HAVE to fight the Chantry and we get a very pro-mage companion to start and no one to give the pro Templar view?

This game is fail and I will not waste my money on it, I hope you pro-mage fans are happy your whining has worked congrats.

Biowear have some gore-an faith your story don't some internet extremist fans push you around. Do you own thing.

Relax.

I would say the chances of us being automatically pro-mage in a series that has done its best to portray ambiguity, and present both sides of an argument, is next to nil. Pretty sure you'll be able to pick sides.

You DON'T have to fight them.....you have to persuade them to join you( or not, which ever a person wants).  Read a little more info before flying off the handle.

You know.. they might just not reveal everything right now and actually keep stuff back for later reveal which could be characters that are more inclined to a pro-templar view

1. That's what they say, but I recon at best the Chantry/Templars will be Logain 2.0 and at worst Cerberus (you kill %90 of them but get a few defectors, espically given their really unfair treatment in the new book.

2. Have you read Assunder? Did you play DA2? The Templars were compared to Naz'is really blunty at that (tranquil solution really:sick:) and the way that people view the Mages, the poor oppressed people rather then people who can destory a town on a weekend if they wanted. And I think the devs just stopped careing/trying, 'why try to make it gray, no one likes the Templars,  let's just have them as the bad guys.

3. You mean like in DA:O or DA:O:A? Alister was a really bad example if that's what they were trying with him. Only DA:2 had a pro Templar/anti-mage charater in Fenris, one out of three is not good odds. I assume a dev will say that Cas is their to be the 'Pro-Chantry' voice, but she is little better then the mages in this since she stayed with the Tratior Devine rather then carry on the fight.

So yeah this game got a lot less interesting to me.

I also don't like the return of the prologs, why waste the time when they already had a solution? I mean really would DA:O have been a bad game if we all got Alisters (for example) back story and it just picked up at Ostagar?

Also large open world? Like Skyrim, cause if I want Skyrim I will play Skyrim, I think DA:O got the explorlation right, I don't want to a 5 min walk/ride to get around, I want to get the action, whether fighting or politicking, as fast as possible.

More races yay<_<, now they can spend more time/money on more voice actors rather then making a better game.

edit: I am assuming that these anouncements are true, not 'jedi true' in order to keep fans interested.

I just saw this. Wow. Jaw hitting the floor. Um. So excited to see playable races back in the game! That really adds so much replay value. Horses! Weather effects!

<3 Varric!! Sad that there isn't any mention of Cullen, but if Varric is an LI this time around, I'll probably be like, "Cullen, who?"

I think Dragon Age Inquisition has just become the bomb-ass game to beat all other bomb-ass games.

So people would feel bad if their horse died, huh?

Interesting.

But Can we eat the horse afterwards? It would be such a waste, like a rogue character could make a jacket or a nice little hat out of him!:) Horse hats for the enitre party!:wizard:

Oh be still my beating heart.

Why is the majority excited about horses? I'm more excited about:

A.) Multiple races....oh what's that Varric? You're not into humans? BAM! Have a smexy dwarven Inquisitor. DENY ME NOW.

B.) The return of Varric

C.) Bioware is encouraging my obsessive map exploring. No corner is to be left unchecked!

LOL That was pretty much my reaction! Posted Image

Though I am excited about the horses too. It'll make the exploration that much more fun.

It is also possible that Varric was just letting Hawke down easy...

What pro-mage companion? Cassandra is a chantry loyalists, Varric considered himself neutral in DA2 and this Vivienne women are pro-Circle, as in, wants the circles to continue, so pretty much pro-templars.
