I wonder how the horses will work. Oblivion tried that a few years ago and IMO it wasn't a resounding success because of control issues. It#s really nice to see it attempted again, though. I hope it will work better in DAI.

Maybe like Skryim's horses? They were a little stiff, but got the job done...
Honestly, I've yet to play a game other then Red Dead that really got mount mechanics pretty perfect, but I'm excited to see how the DA team handles it.

Just as long as the horses don't try to aid me in battle like they did in Skyrim, I'm game.

I can see it now - the player character will get to ride a horse, and everyone else will have to run behind it. Posted Image

I have to admit, multiple races? Horses? BioWare, you've piqued my interest.

Yay for elf and dwarf PCs.

Guffaw for Spectres/Jedi/Grey Wardens/Inquisition.

Well, think of it: you may be the founder of an organization like that. We never had that before.

Bioware lied to us like Rockstar did with regards to certain features that were(n't) supposed to be in game.

I ain't even mad.

And the PC will need to wait a couple of hours for the rest of the group to catch up?

LOL - I can't be the only who had a "Oh no, no good can come of this" moment when they noticed Casey Hudson talking about DAI.

Casey Hudson should not be judged on only the ending of ME3.  Overall the ME series of games was nothing short of tremendous.  As for his involvment, I think it is him commeting on the new engine that BioWare appears to be using for all of their games.

Are you saying we can play an elf or a dwarf in DAI for single player?

Of course they wouldn't say anything until they were absolutely sure these features will make it into the game. Just imagine the reaction here if they were first revealed as features and then cut. It would odd if they hadn't learned from the ME3 debacle.

Dude, I haven't even gotten my issue yet (will be excitedly checking my mailbox after work today)... but just reading the confirmations in this thread has already made me beyond excited for next year!!!

Is it STILL too early to preorder at GameStop? I keep asking, and they keep saying "too early". LOL

It's a little unfortunate though that the team's restricted by current gen consoles. This means they have to keep these ancient systems in mind when designing the world and the interactivity in the world. Part of the big reason CD Projekt RED is focused 100% on PS4/Xbox One/PC only.

Ah well.

You know, just the other day I was talking to my husband, and kind of lamenting the fact that his Lego: Lord of the Rings game had characters with long, flowing hair, (LEGO-las) bowstrings, capes, and horses, and yet my game, Dragon Age, had none of them.

A Lego game had better stuff than my triple AAA RPG.  While I love DA for the stories and the companions, coming to this realization was kind of depressing.

I am so seriously excited for this game now!  I was excited before, but now it's through the roof.

You have never once disappointed me, BioWare.  It's so great to see you guys taking it up to the next level.

This is so seriously cool! :wizard:

I wasn't serious of course. Still, that moment did exist. I was reflecting on that emotional reaction rather than taking it seriously.

I'm surprised and impressed. From what they'd said earlier, I was under the impression that including multiple race choices was a non-trivial amount of work.

I liked this part:

health doesn’t automatically regenerate after encounters, so managing your risk and resources is important

Also:

Bioware lied to us like Rockstar did with regards to certain features that were(n't) supposed to be in game.

I ain't even mad.

Player races is a direct result of our time extension. If we were still releasing this year or early next year, they wouldn't be in.
