Or you could just not go with default

This is too good to be good, there has to be some disappointing news somewhere.

I'm in (as if I wasn't before). ME3 may have broken my heart, but I just can't quit you, Bioware. I'll be pre-ordering a Collector's Edition, as usual.

I have never posted on the forums before, but I feel as though I have to at this news. I am so excited about DA:I now. Thank you so much Bioware. I can't wait to play as an elf again!

I wonder what would be BioWare's/EA sales expectation on this game. And what would it take to consider its a "successful" game. Apart from being a critical success

In regards to EA's expectation on Dead Space that it has to sell at least 5 million copies to guarantee a sequel or some sort of continuation of the franchise. And unfortunately Visceral failed

Ah wow I can't believe how good the game looks. This game is looking to be shaping up to something incredible. And I already like the look of Vivienne. The armor sets, the environments, even the animations look like they're coming together nicely.

I shouldn't get this excited. Can't help it. Can't wait. :)

So people would feel bad if their horse died, huh?

Interesting.

Gah. I think you have hit upon the one and only thing that would make me stop playing DA:I, at least until someone made some kind of mod to take it out :(. So I hope that doesn't happen, or that if it does it can be avoided by some player choice.

I can cope with all kinds of sad things in games, but loyal domestic animals dying ... uh, shall we say it sets off my mental illness in a really unhelpful way and leave it at that? The Darkspawn Chronicles is the only bit of DA content I've never played, because I couldn't stand the thought of Dog getting hurt.

(Not to say that BioWare should cater to my personal issues - they've included rape in their plots, after all, and I'm sure that's upsetting to a lot more people. I just feel the need to raise the flag of 'this isn't something that would make me feel sad, it's something that would force me to stop playing.')

I hope they will talk about the tone of the game and its story at some point during this coverage. DA2 had a tendency to become too lighthearted to my taste.

Some nice information from that Gameinformer article.
The horse and multiple races wasn't be most important information to me, rather the indications on combat mechanics and mention of the smaller changes to dialogue wheel all sounds good to me. I also like that DAI wont be jumping on the Skyrim open world band wagon; I like the Origins/Baldurs Gate way of having a 'semi open world' (my own made-up term there).

I am beginning to think that autumn 2014 will be bad for my work habits with both Dragon Age Inquisition and Witcher 3 coming out Posted Image

Lighthearted? A qunari invasion followed by the templar/mage conflict ripping the city apart, and you in the middle of it? Family members dying from darkspawn, murdered or being taken away?

If that's your idea of lighthearted, I don't want to you see your "dark". In ME3, I often felt as if everything was going to hell in a basket. I don't want to feel that way in DAI.

They didn't state any specifics, but the article says that in addition to overall improvements, the game will include an optional function to the wheel which more directly lets the player know that to expect from his or her choice, though not including major down the line story spoilers.

I read the article regarding this a lot like they want to do away with the surprises a lot of people had in DA2, where a choice suddenly made Hawke sound like a jerk or something like that.

@David Gaider and everyone else at the bioware team. Thank you, I am very happy that I will not be boxed into a human character. I have been wanting multiple races back since the announcement of the game. I really miss my dwarves, playing as elf will be great too. Please send my thanks to EA for the extention, this will make the game infinately more re-playable for me. Now if the character capping for the console versions would just be removed I'd be very happy with this.

Can you imagine how emotional it would be if your horse was riddled with arrows while carrying you to safety before dying?

Interesting.

It would be great if the horse was a defined character, kind of like the horse in Shadow of Colossus (irreplaceable, named) or like the Mabari Hound in Origins.

This is good news. Very good news. It sounds like they've really listened to the criticism against DA2.
i like what they're saying they'll do with the combat with less enemy waves and more tactics. Less repetitive environments is great.
The weather effects sound like fun.
Multiple races is just awesome.
And Varric will be back <3

This sounds really promising. I'm so excited! I'm even leaning towards a pre-order now.

Malanek999, what have you done? You should know Gaider (and probably much of the writing team) feeds on fans tears. All those horses will be staring at you with their dead, accusing eyes.

Also, it reminds me of the backstory to a certain shield: http://baldursgate.w...e_Falling_Stars

So now we HAVE to fight the Chantry and we get a very pro-mage companion to start and no one to give the pro Templar view?

This game is fail and I will not waste my money on it, I hope you pro-mage fans are happy your whining has worked congrats.

Biowear have some gore-an faith your story don't some internet extremist fans push you around. Do you own thing.

What pro-mage companion? Cassandra is a chantry loyalists, Varric considered himself neutral in DA2 and this Vivienne women are pro-Circle, as in, wants the circles to continue, so pretty much pro-templars.

Chanrty loyalist is anti-templar, given the traitor Devines actions.

Are you sure that's what they mean? I thought they had her as a pro-mage, also where did you get that?

The camera's in a constant state of change. I expect it'll continue to change as they tweak it to find the sweet spot.

I humbly suggest they should let us pin it where we like.

And roam.

I'll second that.

I hope the combat isn't too slow like origins, the lack of health regen is disappointing I hate spamming potions and resources management sounds like micromanaging inventory is back. I hope horses and crafting are optional. I hope there's some exciting new innovations to go with the old school tedium they've brought back.
