Will this just be for the US or will it be for Australia too?

I'm literally going to frame this issue of Game Informer and hang it in my room when it arrives.

Can you imagine how emotional it would be if your horse was riddled with arrows while carrying you to safety before dying?

So people would feel bad if their horse died, huh?

Interesting.

Make a Nug mount and ill make it worthwhile. *slides offer across the table*

Seriously, people, after what DA2 did to the Hawke family...
... you think the DA writers need HELP coming up with ways to try to torment the players?

Seriously?

Yeah, DA needs more happy happy. DA2 was way too into the "bad things happening" range.

Short of MAYBE a romantic interlude, there are no "happy endings" in DA2.  Not even little ones.

The ones you thought were MAYBE happy were just a time jump away from turning into tragedies that would make Shakespeare give up playwriting.

Once again I'm both super excited about all of this and at the same time I'm kinda wishing I hadn't clicked the thread because now it will make the wait for the game that much harder.

The game sounds absolutely awesome so far.

If we could do a quest where you would gather armor for both your player and horse( that would match) :Dthat would be great. And change the look of the armor depending if you play as a Mage, rogue, or warrior.

Oh and be able to pick the color of our horses! Yes!

I think preorder numbers has gone up a lot after the race selection.

Judging by the forum activity, I'd say yes.

PS totally pre-ordering now.

I just hope the horses can't be attacked. If I'm exploring some desert, for instance, and I stop to incinerate a darkspawn or two, I don't mind the horse to get attacked and then have to go ALL the way back to the weird hermit with the horses or whatever to get another one. I mean, if the maps are really as big as they say they are, that could get annoying.

Frankly, yes.

What happened to the Hawke family was, honestly, a little boring, though fitting with the game's story. Some companions also go through tragedy, but they bounce back with very little lasting effects (when I killed Merrill's clan in my racist anti-mage playthrough she was distraught for all of 10 minutes). If the DA writers want to torment me, they need to step up to near-Martin levels of sadistic. For example: a late-mid game mission that could end up with Cassandra becoming paralysed and growing into a burden for you. This allows you time to get to know her and even romance her, before tragedy strikes and she no longer becomes useful to you beyond her tactical skill (and for the sake of grimdark, let's make that negligible) and emotional support. The character development there (warrior who can no longer fight, independent person becoming dependant on someone else to care for them, plus your view of them as now a burden or not), if done well, would make for a better tragedy than "Kill ALL the relatives!"
