I didn't think it was possible for me to be more excited or anxious for DAI, and yet, here I am. My excitement has just downloaded an expansion that increases its level cap.
For the record, I was completely fine with having a human-only protagonist. But I'm all for customization (especially if there's reactivity that comes with it), so I'm very happy to hear about the added race options. Although now choosing who my canon Inquisitor is will be even more difficult.
Having mounts is something that I'm fairly ambivalent about (although it would be neat if each race actually did have their own type of mount), but it does interest me in regards to what that potentially says about the size of the world map and/or individual areas.
Things like encouraging exploration, no health-regen after combat, and eliminating (or limiting) level scaling strikes me as an old-school BioWare throwback. I'm not a fan of level scaling in general, although Dragon Age has handled it reasonably well. But I do feel like it takes away a big part of the various feelings that come with leveling up. The terror at facing an enemy that you might not be ready to take on; the feeling of accomplishment when you can finally defeat it; and the satisfaction that comes with being able to utterly destroy monsters that previously posed a threat.

Yeah, I don't want horses dying underneath me.
Soooo...dying on top of you is okay, then?
