When the protagonist rides a horse, will the companions also ride?

These are great news, thank you Bioware! En extra year seemed like a long wait but it's definitely becoming worth it. All good things to those who wait and all that :)

Monsters won't level up...
An opportunity to implement overpowered hidden endgame boss like in FF series.
... And how DLCs will work with that?
Balancing this whole thing will be a lot of work. + Different difficulty settings...

If you romance Varric, the two of you will  be able  to share a horse.

Just when I thought I was out of the BioWare hype train… they pull me back in!

As much as I'd like to get excited about all of this... I sadly remember the hype and misinformation surrounding Mass Effect 3, and how the game didn't even remotely live up to it.

I hope all of this is true... I just have my doubts. Still doesn't change my plan to wait for fan reviews to decide whether or not I'll buy it.

Don't say that!

They are different IPs, without Casey Hudson there to mess it up.

AFAIK =/

Its already been confirmed on this forum that each race will have its own names.

We are not stuck to being part of a single family like Hawke.

Really, where? So characters from different races will have different names? Wow, BW's going all out aren't they, though I assume this is going to cost a bit of time and more money(which is why I thought that they generally have the PC's name set). What's next. they'll have different voices too?

I'm so happy about the choice of races coming back! I loved the replayability of Dragon Age Origins because of all the different interactions depending upon your race and class. The stuff about exploration and weather effects also sound very cool!

I'm really hopeful for Inquisition. Can't wait! *Flails with excitement*

I believe it was Mr. Gaider who confirmed it in response to a question posed by another forumgoer in another thread.

And I'm up for different voices, though that'd take up a lot of space. And cost some serious money.

Yeah, as nice as different voices would be, I'm not really expecting it. I have no idea about actual figures, but that seems like it would be a lot of money (especially at this stage--is voice acting finished now?). They might have to go back and redo stuff, which may or may not be that hard with the given time span.

Anyway, I think it's understandable if there's one set of voices. It wouldn't even be that hard to explain the accents. For instance: "You were orphaned at a young age and taken in by Duke Whatever as a bastard child, quietly raised in the Keep of Something. In the midst of a terrible siege, the sky opens up and you are the sole survivor of the catastrophe."

And so on.

Though if they DO manage multiple voices to separate the classes, it'd be appreciated.

Just a question, how does a dwarf mount a horse? Or do dwarves get Shetland ponies/donkeys?

I understand if they don't but if they do...wow. It'll really add to the replayability.

LOL

That would be insanely unfair.  Brontos are  actually decent in combat.

And to tie this to the discussion.  Go ahead, try and  stab a Bronto.  He'll stab you right back.

Well that's good the surnames issue was cleared up. Hopefully with the extra year they'll be able record the dialogue for the small variations in dwarf, elf, human surnames. Granted you should be called Inquisitor about 75% of the time with your surname being dropped by companions when the scene calls for it. Especially since you aren't the Inquisitor right of the get go and have to create in the early parts of the game from what the article and new info have shown.

Fantastic info. I am now actively looking forward to this game. For the record, I enjoyed DA:O and DA2, but I found the ending of DA2 to be a bit lackluster (not ME3 bad, just not great) and thus wasn't feeling super-enthusiastic about Inquisition. Now I am. I'm glad that EA has given BW extra time. I'm sure you'll make the most of it.

What I want to know is, what are the Qunari and Tal'Vashoth (... this is why I prefer 'kossith') going to do? Even if they're not a player character option - which would be gravy at this point - it looks as thought we have at least one tall, horned companion to worry about. It seems like you'd need a destrier or some similarly strong breed to carry one without plate.
