When a random Forsworn killed one of the 3 named horses in a certain other rpg, I went on a lycanthropic rampage wiping out every Forsworn I could find in the Reach.

That... was an awesome game. Skyrim was the pallet, the npcs your oils, and your character the paint brush.

I'd be prepared for irrational blood rage if you guys decide to go this route.

Some will appreciate the storytelling, if it works; others will simply think you're cruel and grimdark for nixing their pony.

Honestly, no horse death scene can be sadder than Artax in the Swamp of Sadness.  If they can top that, my hat off to them, but otherwise they shouldn't bother.

He's gonna have an army to order around AND he is the head of the Inquisition. Warden is not.
He actually can be a REAL badass Blood Mage which warden can not (well, nobody even blinks at the warden which ruins the badassery).

He's gonna save everybody's asses from demons (Including the wardens' asses).
Apparently, he can attack the wardens and turn them into dust along with their fortress.
He's obviously not someone to be F***ed with, else he lays siege on your damn ass with battering rams and catapults!
He has iconic mage pants!
And he has horses! TAKE THAT!
F***ing epic Inquisitor is F***ing epic!

warden had an entire army at the end. saved world from blight. had Morrigan as a companion. attacks entire darkspawn occupied city. braves the deeproads. beats the crap out of a demon INSIDE the fade......the list goes on

The fade comes to the real world for the Inquisitor, and he has to fight them demons all the time (not just a few minutes). new demons included.
Morrigan's not  important to me at all, she can be kicked out and nothing will happen. The warden is meant to and has to make the sacrifice to kill the archdemon, though he cheats, and creates a THING that might be a greater danger than an archdemon.
The Inquisitor can kill darkspawn and eat them for breakfast as well. Dwarves LIVE with the darkspawn everyday. not a big deal.
We'll see all of his heroic deeds when the game is out, and we'll argue then. BUT I still lay my money on the Inquisitor.

No.

But you had your heart set on something you were probably not getting anyway. Tevinter was incredibly unlikely to have been a background.

I think I saw someone from BioWare say that there will be no backgrounds on the account of being able to choose a race but instead the world will react to the race accordingly.
