[worrying intensifies] Although what I really want to know is if there's a combat log this time.shinobi602 wrote...
Nothing on an isometric view yet...
Game Informer's September cover is DA: Inquisition! (Multiple player races, horseback, video+more)

LOL, give the team at BioWare a break. Has anyone tried mounted combat in a video game before? Even in tabletop RPGs it's always been a little clunky. Maybe for DA:4.
Sure, a bunch of games. Dynasty Warriors, Elder Scrolls, and it worked especially well in the Darksiders games.

Hopefully I can rewrite it to be about decent mustaches or longswords for rogues, unless bioware intends to answer all my prayers in advance

BioWare, you had my curiosity. Now you have my attention.
Of course this all sounds promising but it won't mean a damn thing unless the finished product can deliver. And after DA2 and ME3, that's just going to be something that'll take time to see. Having Laidlaw, Darrah and every other BioWare higher up chatting on a couch isn't enough. But things like horses (only if our companions get to ride too!) and player race (if it actually is a reactive thing) being included are very welcome.

It did not play out well in any of those games though....

Sacred, a German RPG from Ascaron Entertainment, did it a few years back (I haven't played Sacred II so I don't know if they kept it in).

No? I thought they did. Especially loved it in Darksiders.

Multiple player races again? Sweet! But, I'd like to join in with Shinobi's question about the multi-generation launch. Are the Xbox One, PS4, and PC versions being held back to be the same game as the 360 and PS3 versions? Or will there be differences besides improved graphics for the PC and next generation console versions?
DA2 had high resolution texture pack for PC. I'm assuming those will be standard for nextgen and PC this time around.

Don't care. I think the main focus should be the make the game as good as possible overall and not the make people who spend more money on new/higher end systems feel justified in their purchase. And yes, I've preordered a PS4. If they *can* make the next gen version shinier without having to divert lots of resources to do so, it's fine, but it should be much lower on their pirority list than general story/character/combat/lore development.

I had no issue with it in Wyvern Crown of Cormyr. It's also not bad in Skyrim. It's really good in Red Dead. Horse combat is totally doable.

This makes me wonder whether there've been any changes to the the origins also - will they be playable now, will there be more to allow variety for different races?
The race/class selection replaces the plans for different backgrounds we'd mentioned earlier. There's slightly more nuance to it, but it's not quite the same thing.

Bioware lied to us like Rockstar did with regards to certain features that were(n't) supposed to be in game.
I ain't even mad.
Player races is a direct result of our time extension. If we were still releasing this year or early next year, they wouldn't be in.
Will the PC be voiced?
We still plan to have the PC voiced.
How will that work in terms of accents? Traditionally humans speak with an English or Spanish accent in Thedas, whereas dwarves use American accents and Dalish elves are Welsh since DA2. Are you casting three different actors for the male and female protagonists, respectively?
