As to using a bow and two weapons: When you pull up your inventory, look t the upper left corner of the left side of the book, right where you normally equip yur weapon. There will be a box with an "I" in it, overlapping a box with an "II" in it. Click the "II" button to open your alternate weapon slot, then put a bow into it.
You can now switch weapons at any time by pressing the "/" button on your keyboard, or by doing it in your inventory by clicking the "I" and "II" buttons.

Best to stay away from two different weapon styles though. Rouges get a lot of abilities so you wont have enough to become very good with both (unless you ignore the rouge talents like stealth and lockpicking).
Meh I disagree with this when it cmes t rogues, my solo nightmare archer is a dw/archer split, taking one line of DW so far (the whirlwind tree) and one line of archery (arrow of slaying) and pumping the rest of my talents into the rogue abiities.
Quite deadly, I assure you. You don't need every single talent from either school to be effective.

Hi Sloth.Yes iI got the shortcut working.I should say my son did.He went into games and found the icon (which says dragon age 2 now and pasted it on my desktop and it works fine. Now about weapons I have a crossbow in one slot and a dagger in the other.Do I need to take the crossbow out in order to use Dual Weapons - 2 blades or does that work for crossbow and blade or.... oh I am so confused....so many weapons and not enough hands!
Ah no, dual weapons means two weapons at once, the norma slot and the slot directly across your character picture from it (the same slot that a shield goes into). To begin with you can only put small weapons such as daggers into your off-hand, however.

It certainly does work but i just cant stay away from all the rouge talents, and my philosophy has always been if it is worth doing it is worth overdoing so i like to max out my weapons. All an archer really needs to be lethal is Arrow of slaying and scattershot though (how usefull is master archer? "it makes everything better", really? dont suppose you could tell me how much? guess not) so if you are willing to miss out on a specialisation (none of which really add to an archer) it would be fun switching

I started as a circle but the online program i was using doesn't like curves apparently. To be honest, It enclosed the right area so i didn't really care. Finding a picture and then highlighting it took like 30 seconds. Next time though I will be much squarier for you.

If you do the dwarf noble quest and then spend lots of time stealing it is definitely possible.
