Based on the Game Informer article this is what we have confirmed

Party Members
-Varric
-Casandra
-Vivienne -  a mage from Orlais that joins the inquisition (confirmed) 


Possible
-Leliana
-Alistair (read wrong, but could be with all his comic adventures. Waiting for Bioware confirmation) 
-Cullen
-Kossith 

In the game, but not a party member
-Morrigan (implied that she will have a big role)

It will be great to see Varric again, he was the true fan favorite of DA2. Who didn't like him?

Heres hoping that both Leliana and Alistair can return as Party Members since that would make many of us happy.

Sounds to me that Vivienne is a party companion by what the article says. I suppose we have to wait for a BioWare person to 'officially' confirm though.

Vivienne was in line to be the Val Royeaux Circle's next First Enchanter.

The Game Informer article also hints that Leliana and Cullen may both be in the game.

I am the happiest person ever right now. Every since I played Dragon Age 2 that first time, I wanted to have Cassandra in my party. I adore Cassandra. I cannot wait.

We have scans of Vivienne fighting alongside Cassandra and Varric, so she's at least a temporary party member.

Also, Cullen should be under Possible, IMO.

Yea, I'm pretty excited.

Wasn't expecting Morrigan to be a party member, but as long as she is active in the story (if you choose) and her story is resolved, I'll be happy.

I think we can safely rule out Alistair as a companion. In most playthroughs he is the King of Ferelden. It wouldn't make much sense to have a king following you around and taking orders, instead of you know...kinging.

Just because you make a choice to King him doesn't mean he gets to be king forever.

If they can justify Lelianna's resurrection in a setting that's supposed to definitively not have resurrection, then they can justify anything.

Besides, he's running around in the comics doing ADVENTURE too.

I could have misinterepted wrong. In the article it says "Comander Knight Captain" .. I guess that means Cullen!

I'm sort of exited about Varric .And surprised too , I didn't think he would be a companion.
I hope he won't change too much ...
I don't know the idea of having Varric again it's like getting back home , if that makes any sense.
He's like comfort food or something.

Yeah, I'm not sure where people are getting the idea that Alistair might be a companion? I read the entire article, but nowhere does it mention that or hint at it. Cullen is almost certain since they mention a certain popular Knight-Captain is poised to make a comeback.

I totally could see our Inquisitors paying a visit to whoever is ruling in Ferelden in order to try to get him/her on board with our plans and get his/her support whether that be by lending soldiers or some other form of aid, but I am not convinced that this means the ruler would become a companion. Even though Alistair would probably happily drop everything to go on more adventures, he also is very concerned about his duty to Ferelden. So, if he hasn't sired an heir, then I'm not sure how he'd justify abdicating the throne.

Grey Warden Alistair might be more likely, but there's no mention of that in the article, either.

Kinda assumed we'd get Cassandra didn't expect Varric. I'm glad to see it on one hand... sad on the other. I hope Varric makes it through DA3.
