I hope we get a female dwarf companion, preferably a warrior. At this point, I'm doubting their existence. Perhaps Sigrun was a figment of my imagination. A Qunari/Tal-Vashoth female rogue is also on my list. I like my women to be really short or really tall.

A male elf mage companion would be an ideal addition to the team, since we've never had one outside of DLC (Sketch and Finn).

Finn was a human.

I hope they have as many totally new companions as possible. However, having Cassandra, Varic, and Vivienne as potential companions works for me...a decent start to a group - tentatively like what I see.

Where did you hear that? I have seen nothing anywhere saying that, they've been telling us we're stuck with a human in Inquisition since forever.

Since they pushed the release date back another year they had time to implement race selection again. It was announced in the September issue of GI.

indeed. A darkspawn companion would absolutely be perfect. Every team must have a form of freaky outcast. I wonder how big a role the darkspawn race will play in the story. I believe the war against the demons is going to be so epic that we have no choice but to form an alliance with the now more intelligent and independant darkspawn in order to survive. Similar to how the Geth joined to fight the Reapers in Mass Effect.

Also, I'm freaking thrilled that Cassandra has been confirmed to be a compion. I hope is bisexual so that my female inquisitor can romance her.

Ive been asking for a darkspawn as a companion since DAO. I think it would be cool to learn more about them as a race and individual entities. 

If it does happen I hope its one of the architects desciples.

Everyone thinks it's a funny joke, even though it's repeated a million times...

But it's things like that which result in this place getting a bad reputation. And acting like fools attracts actual fools.

Would love to have Bethany back as a party member. I feel her story wasn't nearly fleshed out enough. Especially after she is forcefully ripped out of your party for close to 2/3 of the game. And in the end, a lot of dynamic characters amongst the party would be greatly appreciated.

I for one really, REALLY don't want all these returning companions/book/comic characters in DA:I. I have never liked BW cameos, they always end up super cheesy and over the top, reducing a formerly interesting character to one dimensional caricature with a famous line or catchphrase (swooping is bad, hold the line, etc...). Returning companions have also had their personality changed (Anders, Merril) or caricatured (Oghren). Plus it leaves less space for new, fresh perspectives from new companions. It also makes the world seem so much smaller, are there only 30 people in the entire world?
