Although very funny, that is TARA singing.  Not Buffy.  Still very good.

Hrm, good point.  Still awkward.

Hm that song was nice indeed. Someone knows if it can be found as music file in the game subdirectories? Or somewhere else?

On the Dragon age soundtrack!

Dodgy facial expressions aside I thought it was a great little moment. Even better if you strip them all before hand, it's a good ol' naked sing a long around the fire :D

I thought it was really nice touch. In my first play-through, I got the song on the eve of the last battle and imo it was perfect timing.

I also agree that it might've been even better had she just accompanied herself on a lute. Would have liked to see Sten pick up the bongos also../../../images/forum/emoticons/wizard.png

I think Morrigan had the best response. I mean, it was a good song at all, and an ok scene, but I couldn't help but think of it like real life for a second.

Ever been to a beach (or other outdoor) party when it gets later on into the evening and everyone is just chillin, then some artsy self-centered **** stands up and starts singing really loudly? Her friends all think she is good and the guys that want to do her all crowd around, but everyone else is just kinda sipping their drinks and awkwardly looking at one another, because -god forbid- you talk too loudly while little miss attention whor is doing her thing.

That is what the scene reminded me of more than anything. Poor Morrigan sittin off at her own fire thinking "Shut up ****, I was trying to read this Grimoir"

Hahaha, "what in the hell".

Anyway, I liked the song. I don't know what exactly triggers this event, but for me it was the first thing that happened after I'd had a relatively long break from the game and was a pretty stunning re-introduction to all of the characters I had met along the way.

^_^

A great scene with beautiful camera work. Only problem are the facial animations and the instruments that can be heard but nowhere seen.

OMG that was awesome!

"I" love the Buffy musical AND I love Leliana's song, this is just... wow! Oh and I loved the Genlock Skelly love at the end. heh

I enjoyed the song, very much.

Yes, the animation of her singing and wandering about wasn't the best. [sarcasm] Big deal [/sarcasm]

You only get to hear it, after completing the main quest: "Nature of the Beast." After leaving the Dalish camp, talk to Leliana in camp. She'll sing the song.

No offense, but I think people wondering about where the instruments came from took it too literally. The scene was only 50% about her singing and the other 50% I saw as setting an atmosphere of reflection after a tragic sequence. Like when they queue an orchestral accompaniment to some scene in a movie.

Yeah stuff like this doesn't need to be in the game, but I thought it makes the experience richer and wanted to go on record as saying it's been one of the most enjoyable moments. Hopefully, Bioware can improve the animation for these types of things in the future. Onwards...

I enjoyed it when Leliana sang. I didn't expect it and it added a nice touch to the game experience.

Absolutely beautiful song, and appropriate as it touched on one of the game's major themes-- acceptance of death as part of life.

It was also nice to have a bard actually sing, not just "click, stun opponents". Personally, I'd have loved to have even more music in the game, possibly even actual early music (i.e. period music on reproduction instruments).

I thought it was a great touch. There were issues with facial animations but it's unique moments like this that makes DA more than just a generic fantasy game. There's all sorts of cool moments in the game where you don't expect things and are pleasantly surprised or shocked that it occurred.

And the above point is well made. This is the FIRST time ever in any fantasy RPG game I've played where the bard actually, you know, sings!!

I'd actually like to thank you for that link, I thought it was beautifull and fitted the song very well ( and yes I LOVED the musical episode of buffy lol )

I just wish that when you speak to Leliani afterwards you could get her to sing the campfire song again in the way that you can get her to tell you all the different tales that she tells you during the game :0(

You can, there's a mod for that.

I loved it. I was in a relationship with her so I thought she was serenading me.

Though the lip sync was off as others have said, it was still a beautiful scene.

I thought it was a beautiful song and added something special to the game. I also liked watching the other companions while she sang.
