Lets assume for a moment that the next game is a sequel. Obviously we don't know that yet, but lets pretend it is. Should the Quarians return in their familiar suits, or would you prefer to see them roaming around fully unmasked?

Some unmasked/some with their suits. Dont know how that'd work but if I had a choice I would go for both familiar and fresh.

I remember Tali saying that the suits themselves would still be worn, since they have become a part of Quarian culture. As for the masks, it would have to depend on the time period. Tali mentions that with the geth's help, Quarians would be able to live without their suits in a matter of years after ME3, since the Geth were able to fake infections to bolster Quarian immune systems. If the destroy ending is canoned, this means that the geth were destroyed by the crucible, meaning that the Quarians would have to wait many more years until they are able to live without their masks.

Depends. Do they consider your choice? Do they care? When is it set? Etc etc.

It'd be nice to see some work put into the Quarian appearance though.

In-game quarian face models?

Surely you jest.

That's just the thing. Did the Quarians survive? Did the Geth? Which ending did you pick, and at what level of EMS?

Unless they retcon everything to give themselves a single starting point to work with, I don't see how they can set a story after the Reaper war.

That's not a retcon. Just canonizing an ending.

I'd prefer them photoshopped.

Leliana pulls a "The rumors of my death were greatly exaggerated" in DA2 if you kill her in DA:O, as I understand it.

Would they put a lot of work into a race that could be dead?

I guess I'd rather have them roaming around unmasked, though it depends on the time frame. Perhaps not if it follows immediately on the heels of ME3.

..even if killing her triggered a decapitation animation, which is quite funny. Leliana apparently has respawning heads. Posted Image

Assuming it is not an immediate sequel and set at least a few decades after 3, then yes, the Quarians should not wear their familiar masks. As Siniiste said, it would make sense if they still appeared in their trademark suits, but the masks would have no reason to exist.

You can say the same of the Krogan, Rachni, Geth, Reapers, and Hanar (Drell? Elcor?).

They could always canonize an ending.

Can wear the suit..just no mask. Or clothing that is in the style of the suit, but not a suit.

Would depend on if the game's situation is canonized to follow specific choices in ME3. For example: "Will the game follow Destroy, Control, Synthesis, or Refusal?" or "Will saving the Geth, saving the Quarians, or saving both sides be canon?" You would have to take these both into account because if Destroy is canon, then saving the Geth in either way would be pointless.

As for what I would prefer: I'd prefer to have the Quarians be unmasked. I'm tired of wondering what Quarians actually look like. I want to see Quarian faces!!

I'd rather have suits than more of Bioware's art.

They should, because if they put no effort into a race that can be dead, they'd essentially neglect the majority of the races that populate the MEU. This does leave the tricky question of the geth, which would be canonized into extinction if they actually follow the destroy path.

Let's just keep the masks on and pretend that reveal never happened.

Aside from that, I wonder how the issue of their immune systems will be approached if they do in fact produce a sequel.

Just because they can adapt to Rannoch doesn't mean they won't need suits for any other planet.

suppose it all depends on the time difference to 3, if its 60 years and without geth enhancment it will still be to soon for the bulk of quarians to live without envirosuits. Obviously the further you go into the future the more the chance the quarians no longer require the suits.

Just give them an appropriate angelic glow, and it's good.
