Actually, no, it never says she died. All Varric says in the comic is that they didn't escape the Merchant Guild.

I don't suppose you'll tell us for sure? Or tell us if we'll eventually be 100% certain whether she's alive, dead, or maimed beyond all recovery?
I'd also, for one, like to know what on earth was happening with the Merchant Guild to make their encounter so risky and their escape so necessary. And how/why Varric ended up working with them again in DAII.
I can't tell you what happened. Although I'm hoping eventually you will get Bianca's version of the story...
