Actually, no, it never says she died.  All Varric says in the comic is that they didn't escape the Merchant Guild.

I did notice that. But our poor Varric was crying for the first time in the series, and so much time has seemingly passed without her playing any significant role in his life that we know about... I figured it was settled (though super sad.) 


I don't suppose you'll tell us for sure? Or tell us if we'll eventually be 100% certain whether she's alive, dead, or maimed beyond all recovery?

I'd also, for one, like to know what on earth was happening with the Merchant Guild to make their encounter so risky and their escape so necessary. And how/why Varric ended up working with them again in DAII.

seeing as anything NOT in game is NOT canon lore? why does it matter. it never happened as far as DA games are concerned

Varric: "Oh it's just bianca, she always sleeps next to me."

You're being silly.

While the events that took place in the comics may or may not (it's really determined by Mr. Gaider's whims, isn't it?) be canon, Varric's memories of the past that are relayed in the comics don't change.

Two of the novels are definitely canon. You're just going to have to deal with it.

I can't tell you what happened. Although I'm hoping eventually you will get Bianca's version of the story...

I can't tell you what happened. Although I'm hoping eventually you will get Bianca's version of the story...

Well since the lines between reality and the Fade are being blurred in some parts of Thedas, I guess we can't know whether you're hinting that she's alive or whether we'll meet her spirit or an imitation of her.  Though I may be waaay over-thinking this. I'm just used to the writers *ahem* throwing us sneaky 180's.

This actually makes me want a Varric romance more than before. If he were to get over her "death" and move on, only to find that he might have been mistaken about Bianca's passing...

I don't usually go for high-drama romances, but that would be some heavy (in a fun way) stuff.

I, on the other hand, go for high-drama romances like a puppy goes for Milkbones. I would be all over that, my friends, and something tells me it would be a hell of an emotional roller-coaster!

Well if Bianca is in Inquisition , I guess I don't want to romance Varric.
From Until We sleep , I understood they both tried to get away from the Merchant Guild to be together and it failed.

But I never thought she was dead ...not sure if their familly kept them apart or Varric just didn't want to leave everything behind for her (I don't think he's the kind of guy who likes to run away..) , and they just broke up.
