I'm all for Varric as a romance option as long as they don't make him bisexual.
BioWare, not everyone has to swing both ways. It's silly.
And I don't see why Varric has to be a romance option *only* to dwarf Inquisitors, either. All seems vaguely heightist to me. Varric is a real man, whatever his stature. Just listen to that voice and look at that chest hair.
Isn't that a bit hypocritical? Who says that everyone swings for all races, if they're not into all genders? And anyway, it's been almost confirmed that all the LIs are going to be romancable by male and female protagonists, thankfully.
"Who says that everyone swings for all races, if they're not into all genders?"
Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by that.
And I have nothing against bisexual or gay people. I just don't think it's very realistic that everyone in your party is bisexual. The vast majority of people in real life have a single preference.
It kind of dilutes their characters. It turns them into fan-service sexual fantasies instead of real people with minds of their own.
E.g. Big Qunari warrior companion: "I am straight."
Male Inquisitor: "Are you sure? Look a little closer."
Qunari: "Oh. I did not realize you were the main character of this video game. I suddenly find facial hair on a mate very attractive. Let us go to my tent."
