Thedas seems screwed. What can possibly be done in DA4?

Elves vs humans, qunari vs tevinter, qunari vs everyone, mages vs Templars, seekers vs both, chantry vs Templars, chantry vs tevinter, orlais vs itself, orlais vs ferelden, orlais vs nevarra, grey wardens vs darkspawn, darkspawn vs everyone, and to top it off, demons vs everyone.

Thedas seems to be in a bad way during dragon age inquisition.

Now, if bioware will allow a great deal of choice regarding these conflicts in DA:I (which granted they may not), how on earth will the next game be able to be set in Thedas?

If we can truly 'lead this world to its bitter end', then what on earth could happen to players who do this in the next game?

Doesn't throwing all conflicts into one game where the world can end essentially close off Thedas as a future location (assuming that the player will have a large amount of choice in the conflicts, as has been implied)?

Will our choices in da:I be respected in future iterations? How could they take into account such world changing possibilities? (I accept that we wont get much choice in ALL of these conflicts, but we hopefully will in SOME)

Perhaps da4 will be set on a different continent?

And before anyone says that it's too early to think about da4, I pre-emptively respond that I don't care :)

I don't think we will have to deal with all the conflicts...
Orlais civil war /elves uprising will be in part in a book , we may just deal with the aftermath.
It seems we won't set foot in Tevinter , and the qunari we saw in trailers/screenshot look tal vashoth.

I'm not sure we will deal a lot with qunari this time.

For the future , there's still all tevinter , nevarra etc...
Not everything is going to explode , mostly it's Orlais which is in danger ...It's the center of the chantry , I think we may see the most powerful country in Thedas crumble.
It leaves the door open for a lot of new adventure!

I'm sure they'll try to milk another sequel out of this game. Bioware is already working on a Mass Effect 4 despite the fact that the Mass Effect series is basically over.....

Dunno. Mike Laidlaw said in today's video that they've always had a 5-game plan for what they want to do with the world.

Could you not say the same about DA:O? The Blight returns and the force relied upon to oppose them has all but ceased to exist.

I would imagine we'll see the resolution of some, the escalation of others and the creation of additional conflicts.

You forget the gravest danger to all of Thedas... the one being who can bring the world to its knees after the events of DA:I... the true harbinger of doom and destruction...

Your post demonstrates a clear misunderstanding of both the plans for Mass Effect's future (brand new story) and the concept of the Dragon Age franchise (several already-envisioned interconnected arcs, this being the third). Either that or you harbor the belief that the Mass Effect universe is incapable of further tales (one which I fervently disagree with) and/or you believe the Dragon Age team leaders complete liars (and I can't fathom why they would possibly lie about this).

Quite right.

The BSN does not play well with smart phones, unfortunately.

My two cents: 'leading this world to its bitter end' need not be taken literally. The world of Thedas as we have known it so far could undergo vast change (an end, of sorts), which seems to be what, in fact, is happening in Inquisition. I see it, therefore, as more of a figurative end.

We'll only be in Ferelden and Orlais for the Inquisition, it looks like. So that leaves several countries to set future DA games in. Ones that may not be as affected by Inquisition's events. For example, the Tevinter Imperium has a completely different religious hierarchy, so what's happening with the Chantry, Templars, and Mages in Orlais might not have much effect at all in Tevinter. Future games might see us playing Tevinters who decide to attempt to take advantage of the chaos in Orlais and Ferelden to expand their empire (or not, as the player sees fit).

I don't know what BioWare's long term plan is for DA, but in the most recent video published by Game Informer, Mike Laidlaw suggests that they have an arc already in place for at least five games. I think they are a pretty competent, intelligent lot out in Edmonton, and I'm sure they have lots of ideas up their sleeves.

Personally I refuse to discuss ME4; doing so would eat up valuable ME7 discussion time.

And had it not been stopped there I'm sure they would have all gone home for tea and scones.

Im not saying that the DA WORLD will be dead after DA:I.

Im saying that the continent of Thedas may be done after it. I really want to go beyond the Korecari wilds, or find where the qunari came from in the north.

...I don't think we're quite on the same level.

Da:o was about conflicts in ferelden. Thus, I would have been surprised if DA2 took place in ferelden.

Similarly, DA:I seems to be about continent-wide conflicts, and I would be surprised to stay in Thedas, if all out choices are to be respected. (Of course, we may not get any choices of a big scale anyway).

Regardless, your comment above seems a little....I dunno, irrelevant? Sorry if that's rude.

Tevinter (DA4), Nevarra (DA5), Par Vollen (DA6), there are lots of places that can have interesting stories. Also yeah Mike said and i quote ".. the five game plan and further"

I don't know, some of the devs have hinted in the most recent development video that most of the world's top religious and political powers are conveniently too corrupted and occupied fighting right now (Chantry, Orlaisian Civil War, etc), and that there might be more to it than meets the eye. I'm guessing your character is meant to root out the hidden causes to the worst of these conflicts so Thedas can keep functioning for future games.

If you watch the new gameinformer video they say they have the story laid down for like 5 games down the road. Rest assured, they'll think of something. ;)

Once there's world peace, we can devote our live to things that are REALLY important - like being turnip farmers DA4! Joking aside, I actually think it's a bit early for prognostication, as we don't know what's going to happen in DA3. Maybe we'll storm Tevinter and wage war in DA4 for all anyone knows. :P

''Lead this world to its bitter end'' probably means: ''Try, but fail'', which is not possible since gameplay deaths are not canon.

It started in Ferelden. It threatened everything. It was stopped before it could destroy everything.

These conflicts start in [Insert Placename Here]. They threaten everything. This is a pattern.
