I have the same problem with the Digital Delux Edition.
Here's what I did to identify exactly where my problem is: 1) Notice on which archive my installer aborted, in my case, it was a 1.23 GB archive called "env.rar". 2) Browsed to that archive, and did test it in WinRAR to identify what's going wrong there.
-- Edit: Issue Resolved with the help of really great people here! Thanks a lot![/b]
Hey Eriol! I'm having the same problem you had, except for me it's:
modules\\single player\\audio\\vo\\en-us\\vo\\den200_gorim.fsb
It's the Digital Delux Edition downloaded from EA's online store. It's a 2.8 MB file... If someone could help me out I'd be really grateful. My e-mail adress is in my profile.
Thanks!

I'm not one of those smart dudes, but the only thing I can think of this point is to gather together common threads between folks here that are having this issue - version, spec, OS, etc. Try to create common ground and then eliminate possible factors. Here's a bit of my info fwiw:
Dragon's Age Deluxe Edition
Purchased from Gamersgate.com (Digital Download site)
Downloaded from both Gamergate and EADM several times (i can use product key in EADM)
Windows Vista 32-bit
Intel Core 2 Quad
4GB RAM
AVG Anti-Virus
nVidia GeForce GTX 260
Windows Firewall
I've had issues after different download attempts with the following (high-level) .RAR files:
core.rar (early)
campaign_movies03.rar (rather late in the process)

Okey dokey. As a test, I tried an install on my mother's computer, which was successful. Definitely not the disc. Both of us run Vista 64, she has more RAM and a bigger hard drive...and a different brand of DVD drive, which I'm beginning to suspect is the culprit. IIRC, some models of disc drive were problems with Mass Effect as well. I'm not certain this is the problem, but I'm definitely leaning that way.
just note that a lot of folks are having this issue with digital downloads...i don't think it's a disk issue at all unless it's a completely unrelated problem

Nvidia Geforce 8600 512MB

DA:O standard disk now but I had similar problem with the CE disk version I originally got.
My problems in both cases have been in the campaign vo_english rar archive.
People seem to be having problems randomly cause sometimes the problem is for disk users and sometimes for digital users so it's certainly bizare and incredibly frustrating.

My DVD drive is half buggered, which means it's too slow to install directly from the discs (although disc checks work fine), so I copied both discs onto my HD, all files into one folder.
I hit the 99% spot each and every time, the install conks out with the infamous "data error". Tried using express install, custom install (including creating a new name for the instal dir), all to no avail.
I'm not sure which archive/file it is exactly, I shall try unrarring/unzipping everything tomorrow.
Windows XP 32bit
Intel dual core
2Gb RAM
Nvidia GeForce 7300 LE
Dell motherboard
This is using the standard edition of the game.

I'm working with EA now. Sounds like they have some ideas on the problem and will have something at least by the end of the week. However, I hope to have it resolved sooner and will let you know.
That sounds promising!

I have a workaround that seems to be working for me. I created a folder in my computer's \\\\program files\\\\, and used the DVD drive on my mother's computer to install the game on my external hard drive. It installed fine. Then, I copied everything from there over to my computer's new folder, piece by piece. It means I don't have auto uninstall available, but it looks like it will work. If this is something hardware related (I'm betting it is), then something like this might work for others, even the downloaders. I haven't actually started the game yet, just the system analysis and configuration, so I'll let everyone know if this really works.
*Fingers crossed*
I tried this earlier and it didn't work because without installing it on my computer it lacked the registry edits. I've also tried having my roommate who can install the game unpackage everything and send it to me and then repackaging it myself and still it doesn't work. I tried running the setup without repackaging and it just asks me to insert disc one. Is there something I'm missing when I try to do that?
