This thread is for discussing the character of Vivienne, who (SPOILER COMING) is one of our companions in DA:I.

We know the following so far:
She's Orlesian
She is human
She was in line to be the next First Enchanter (so high level???)
She is very pro-circle
David Gaider  found a comparison to Wynne amusing.

So here are some questions to potentially get things started:

What will a character who is very pro-circle in the party bring to the table?
How will Vivienne react to the circles crumbling?
What do you think of her design?
What are the implications for other companions based on her character (other mages and other character's reactions to her)? Also, how will known companions (Cassandra and Varric) react to her presence?

So this is a lot of conjecture, but these are the Bioware forums. Also, there are pics out there, but I'm not going to post any of them since it's not technically allowed (and also, I don't know how heheheh).

Gaider is a somewhat mercurial character.
He finds lots of things amusing .
He probably deliberately designed her to be the exact opposite of Wynne.
I loved Wynne btw.
I want her in the party and will probably romance her on one of the playthroughs if that's available.

I'm really excited about her. She is also apparently the kind of character who would demand instant adulation in return for not setting someone on fire. Sounds funny/interesting to me.

I, too, wonder what Varric will call her. I love his nicknames.

I sorta like her look because it looks so different and distinctive (at least what we've seen of it). I will admit, though, that she reminds me of Shak'Ti from Star Wars. http://images1.wikia..._Ti_closeup.jpg

Wynne was very zen, kind of the sage of the group. I'm guessing Vivienne will be much more aggressive in speech and in her deeds, then.

I can just imagine the group going through mud and Vivienne refuses to follow. So the Inquisitor has no choice but to carry her over his shoulders.

I think any character to heavily invested in either side of the war would be unwilling to work with the Inquisitor, at least at first. She may be the leader of a group of loyalist mages or mages who simply want the war to end. That's not to say that she wouldn't want freedom for mages, but who knows.

When I first read her description I got the image of her being upset that the circles collapsed because it stopped her rise within the circle. It's a very Orlesian sentiment so I don't think she'd be above it. Then again she may legitimately feel mages are dangerous for one reason or another. Could be interesting to meet an actual loyalist mage, but idk.

I love that she is PoC though I wouldn't have minded one way or another. My favorite part is that everything about her outfit is terribly Orlesian. It's extravagant, but still kind of pretty. Idk I have a bias towards Orlais in general.

It's hard for me to really tie down how Cassandra would act because she isn't anti-mage, but she may not like Vivienne's personality for one reason or another. I would expect Varric to be pretty laid back regardless of her beliefs, but she may not like him because he doesn't take anything serious. The only character I can think of that Varric wasn't 100 percent in live with was Sebastian and I think that was because Seb's story was relatively tame compared to the others.

Is she a PoC? I was having a tough time figuring it out, but I thought her skin might be dark brown. If so, then that's awesome.

She's darker than Isabela though it's hard to tell with the bright white mask.
