[Heikurashi]

 I'm trying a new playthrough where everyone but Tali dies. I know that at least one other will live and I'm trying to make that be Zaeed. I've come up with a plan but I'm not sure if it'll work. Advice?

Loyal: Tali, Jack, Mordin, Kasumi, Thane, Grunt, Jacob.
Not Loyal: Legion, Miranda, Samara, Zaeed, Garrus

Jacob - vents
Tali - escort
Grunt - team lead #2
Garrus - #2 on long walk
Samara/Morinth  - scare Morinth off, biotic bubble
Mordin - hold the line
Legion - side with Tali in Tali/Legion fight
Miranda - side with Jack in Jack/Miranda fight

Final team - Legion, Samara
Hold the line  - Miranda, Zaeed, Mordin

Hopeful ending:
Jack - don't upgrade armor
Kasumi - don't upgrade shields
Thane - don't upgrade guns
Jacob - rocket to the face
Grunt - shot
Garrus - carried off by swarms
Legion and Samara - Dead from final battle
Miranda and Mordin - Dead from holding the door
Zaeed and Tali - Survive

Why put Tali in the vents? You can lose someone there, like Legion. Get Zaeed's loyalty then use him for the escort. He survives but does not raise the average of the HTL team score. Bring Tali to the Final battle so she survives. Use Grunt as second fire team lead. Not sure what that scores for you HTL team. You probably need to lose someone or two on the approach.

The survival guide generally tells how to keep everyone alive. And I have no problems doing that.

I have Tali doing the escort, that way she's guaranteed to be alive. Grunt is second team lead.

The layout I had got a little messed up after I posted it and I didn't notice. Sorry for the confusion.

I don't think unloyal Zaeed will work if you want only him and Tali to live.

How about this: get Zaeed's loyalty, but not Garrus. Bring both with you for the final assault and use Grunt for your second fire team. Your heavy hitters are not part of the HTL team. Lots of deaders. Also, you could just sell Legion to Cerberus, not activate Grunt, and not recruit Kasumi, though the latter would mean you miss out on a sweet weapon for any class but a soldier. (plus an early tech damage upgrade and the money/experience.)

I really only want Tali to survive. But I've read that if you only have one loyal crew survive, then one non-loyal will too. It would just be easier if it was Zaeed. And I've thought about not activating Legion or Grunt, but I like their missions. And I want to help the quarians out by destroying the geth. Plus, like you mentioned, you get a really good gun in Kasumi's mission.

Idk how that works, unloyal squadmates are only suppose to survive if you leave them to hold the line but the scoring for that is complicated and the way you're doing it I believe everyone will just die there anyway.

Anyone who's loyal is guaranteed to survive if you bring them to the Final Team or if they're an escort. So just do everything normally except have Zaeed shot instead of Grunt, and depending on whether you wanna kill the kidnapped Normandy crew as well or not, either send Tali as an escort and use Grunt on the Final Team (he'll survive and you'll keep him away from holding the line), or if you want them to die too just take Tali and Grunt on the Final Team.
