The reason that I'd suggest this is for multiple reasons.
1) It would fit with the naming theme of each game and book in the series thus far.
Dragon Age: Origins
The player character have various origins to choose from. Each Origin gives an insight into the world of Thedas and gives extra definition to the PC depending on their choices and the circumstances that they endure leaving each one with the potential of being drastically different in how they view the world that they're saving.
Dragon Age: Stolen Throne
Maric and Loghain are leading the rebellion against the Orleisan Occupiers. Maric seeks to reclaim a throne that was stolen from his family many years ago and to right the wrongs committed to his people. Loghain is similarly motivated, but with a greater flavor of hatred, causing him to make choices for Ferelden's sake that strains his friendship with Maric.
Dragon Age: The Calling
A young Duncan teams up with Maric to uncover a mystery involving a missing Warden Commander who may be close to undergoing their Calling. In addition, they also meet up with an entity that seeks to take the Callng and turn it into something that will threaten all of Thedas if it isn't stopped.
Dragon Age: Asunder
In the wake of the incident in Kirkwall, the world is torn asunder in the growing conflict between mages and templars. Any attempts by mage enchanter Rhys to seal the growing breach come too late against the inevitable storm and he's going to find out first hand as to why.
Dragon Age: Inquisition
The world is torn apart and a giant rip in the sky just opened up unleashing demons and other monstrosities into Thedas. As head of the newly reformed Inquisition, it is up to you to invesitigate the state of the world and of this new disturbance and rebuild some working sense of order in a newly chaotic world.
Then we have...Dragon Age II
....The second game in the series? It's not bad in itself, but when compared to other titles, Dragon Age II just doesn't sound like it fits.
2) The game deals heavily with champions. The Second Act centers on the Arishok is the Champion of the Qun; Act 3 has Meredith as Champion of the Templars and Orsino as Champion of the Circle Mages. Meanwhile, the entire game constantly references the Warden from Origins who is now revered as the Hero and Champion of Ferelden
3) The game mainly deals with Hawke's rise from mere refugee to becoming the Champion of Kirkwall itself. Hawke's companions are also champions in their own right. Aveline is a Champion of peace and justice; Varric is a Champion of the surface dwarves; Anders and Fenris are Champions of Freedom and Vengeance who seek to right the wrongs done to them and other elves/mages; Merrill is a Champion of the Dalish seeking to reclaim a lost piece of their past; Sebastian is a Champion of Devotion; and Isabela is a Champion of Notereity.
The type of Champion that Hawke is depends greatly on how the player crafts them. It just feels like the whole game is moved and lived by champions all interacting and affecting each other in ways that are both good and bad. Dragon Age: Champion has more of a high-setting within it as it unfolds a tale on the rise, clash and fall of champions within an otherwise unremarkable city in the Free Marches and how their clash would undo the very foundations of Thedas.
Any thoughts?
Rename Dragon Age II as Dragon Age: Champion?
