I just checked systemrequirements.com to see if I can run me2 and it said I all in the greens my question is it accurate cause I can't find the system requirements on bioware's site anywhere.
these are my specs if anyone could see if I can run it.
hp pavilion dv6
Intel Core i5-430M processor 2.26GHz with Turbo Boost Technology to 2.53GHz, 4GB DDR3
Nvidia GeForce GT 230M 1GB Dedicated
640GB (5400RPM) Hard Drive
Windows 7 64bit

You'll be fine @ medium settings for most resolutions.

If they tell you your CPU cannot handle them, it is most likely because the i5 processors are new so the software checking your specifications might not recognise them.

Thanks for the answers Garoth, I'm sure everyone here is glad your helping out.

Going to give ME2 a shot with a single core

AMD  Athlon 64 3800+   2.40 GHz
3GB Ram
HD 3850 AGP  GPU
7.1 Striker PC surround System

Runs ME1 ok - FPS drop to 20ish when in combat with mid level settings - 1280-720 on 16-9 screen.

Hey, I'm wondering about my HD 4650 card. The requirements is too confusing to really check. Cam my HD 4650 run ME2?

Need info for me too...

Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 (3M Cache, 2.13 MHz, 1066 MHz FSB)

4 GB ddr3-sdram memory

NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M 512 MB

Windows 7-home 64-bit

I can run ME with high settings w/o dynamic shadow. I can also run DA:O at med-high settings. Resolution for both is 1366x768.

Its a laptop btw if it matters.

Thanks in advance guys.

You'll be fine, CPU is a little sluggish, but it meets minimum requirements.

GPU is actually far more powerful in comparison.

The processor is technically below minimum requirements.

I still think the game will run, but unsure about the performance.

I would suggest waiting to see how others with similar hardware runs the game.

Yeah it should run fine at medium-high as long as your processor can keep up.

ME2 should run fine at medium, maybe higher.

I do recall devs calling ME2 more optimized than ME.

Sigh, why did they not bring the ability to quote several people at once without having to copy/paste posts to do it?

Curious if my system is going to be alright for playing ME2 (it runs ME1 on mid-range settings alright and the specs don't seem to have changed too much.) I'm running the following:

Windows XP SP2
AMD Athalon 64 X2 Dual 4200+ 2.19GHz Processor
2GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 9400GT 1GB

I have the sneaking suspicion the answer is going to be "Yes, don't expect anything special out of your graphics".

If anyone could offer some comments however they would be welcome.

Jerjer, that's quite a long topic. Especially if you mean a Do It Yourself job rather than simply selecting components from a custom-build store.

Beyond the questions of selecting a CPU or graphics card, you'll also need to select a motherboard, power supply, case, etc. if you're starting from scratch. You can definitely get a good gaming machine for $1200, especially if you are going to build it yourself; but you should probably look on a site devoted to building custom machines.

Tom's Hardware might be a good place to start. They do monthly "Best of" articles about CPUs and GPUs suggesting decent picks for different price points. They're not actually great things to shop by, as prices can change quickly, but they're very useful for giving you landmark parts you can reference as a scale.

If you're going to DIY, you'll need to learn about more than just those two thnigs. This page & video over at PC Perspective is a nice overview of how to actually put components in your case, and serves as something of a checklist of what you might need; that might be a good place to start.

Easily under 1200 off of Tom's Hardware:

http://www.tomshardw...ndation-54.html

Specifically for ME2, you could probably take out one of the 4850s, HDs, and a lower PSU for a much lower price.

Thanks the reason I'm considering it is because I just bought this hp labtop with the specs I stated earlyer and it's costng me 1200 with tax and another 300 with warrenty someone told me with that kind of money I could have just built a tower and still have money to by a manstream labtop for portability, or build a really good gaming system. I would mind learning to build it my self but I probibly would let a pro builder do it

It should run low-medium, don't expect anything special out of your graphics. ^_^

First of all:

Make sure that you have space in your tower for the card and that your power supply can take the extra workload.

Other than that, how much do you want to spend?

An ATI HD 5670 can be had for about $100, same for a GeForce GTS 250.

I guess I have a 'can I run it' question, also.

The only area I'm iffy on is the video card. Everything else I meet the recommended requirements. I have an ATI 2600HD. SRL says I'm good to go and meet the minimum, but I'm not comfortable relying on that analysis. It seems like there's been some question on if HD cards will work with this game. Should I be able to run it? I played the first one on this same computer, and I'm not looking for world-beating performance.

Thanks.

If your looking to spend about 100, Id get a HD4850. If you need/want DX11 for future-proofing, you'll have to go up to the 5XXXs.

Though before anyone makes any concrete recommendations, we are going to need to know your PSU and Motherboard.

You should be fine to run ME2 with your HD2600 probably in the low maybe medium settings.  Your card features a 128 bit memory interface which is good.  A card sporting a 256 bit memory interface would be more ideal but 128 is ok.   As for ram speed I don't what you have.  My first guess would be ddr2 which is slower.  That will impact performance.

If you upgrade , a 128 bit/256 bit memory interface and the speed of the ram are more important than the amount of ram a video card has.   Finally higher numbered parts (cards) don't mean superior performance.  For example a Radeon HD4350 with 512MB of ddr2 ram and a 64 bit memory interface will probably not out perform your HD2600 in most games.

Good Luck

Aye, I've been running ME2 successfully on maximum settings and that resolution (aside from AS filtering) with my 8600GT card and haven't had any frame rate issues what so ever.

I'm sorry but the above quote cannot be attributed to me.  How a 8600GT could run ME2 or ME1 at max settings is beyond me.
