Charge is not the only power the vanguard class has. Singularity and throw are the only powers that adepts have over it.

Play insanity with a vanguard and tell me you won't be a one trick pony, think about it. Lose shields instantly, charge, lose shields again, charge want to get a slight power boost, charge. It gets repetitive on the harder difficulties (which i play) really quickly so a vangaurd would be worse than a solider in terms of variety IMO

Favorite: Vanguard. I just love blowing enemies away with charge and shotgun

Lease favorite: Adept. Biotic combo is powerful but it got old pretty quick. I found myself bored after 1/3 way thru I think.

I'm surprised soldier isn't that popular, and power use is. To me, these games feel more comfortable as shooters, while the power use is periodic. I never got the impression I could really play a caster like I do in other games (could be because I'm on 360, and don't have hotkeys).

It depends on your style. I opt to play extremely aggressive as a Vanguard, frequently charging into the "eye of the storm" and Nova-ing soon after. My gunplay is split between the aforementioned and occasional grenades. Pure caster classes typically boil down to cover and combos. In fact, Adepts will likely surpass any gun if you can trigger constant explosions.

I rather like Soldiers, or rather did in ME2. However, I find playing the game as a straight shooter cheapens the experience. If I wanted that, Call of Duty simply offers more gameplay wise than Mass Effect, under those parameters.

I cannot deny my frequent use of Charge, but Nova sees plenty of action, as does Inferno Grenades and the occasional pull. This being on Insanity. And my shields do not drop near as constantly as you've implied.

Favorite class: Adept, c'mon its fun with detonations and various powers.
Least favorite: Vanguard, Just Charge everything? Lame. I'd rather equip armor piercing ammo on a Mattock X. IMO

I like the classes for the most part. Infiltrator is my favorite (especially when they added Tactical Cloak in ME2 and ME3). It just fits my play style. Being sneaky and taking them out with precision shots before they know what hit them.

My least favorite is Sentinal. I liked all the powers individually, but playing with a tech and biotic mix felt a little weird.

However, I must say Vanguard is by far the most fun I've had playing ME3.
