It's not even a subjective statement... CoD multiplayer is light years ahead of MEMP... It is more polished, consistent, damn near bug-free, less lag dependant, balanced, etc. etc. etc. It is a significantly better multiplayer when you compare it apples to apples.

Which one is more fun can be argued till the cows come home. I would say I have had more fun in ME3MP than just about any other game except Black Ops 1.

And if we're talking offline Goldeneye 64 takes the cake without a doubt.

Agreed.

Spawns can be helpful or harmful. For the most part if you have a competent team you can force spawn the enemy in one location and make it predictable just by looking in different directions. Unless you have an extremely large map or you're all hunkered down together spawns shouldn't really screw you over that much. At most they'll be random, though you do have those times when a banshee spawns right behind you, but they are negligible.

CoD is played exclusively by 14 year old virgins, or any other insecure males with something to prove.

Everyone knows this. Everyone.

Comparing CoD to the ME franchise, may as well compare twilight to chaucer. One being marketable trash, the other, a work of art.

Now gtfo of bsn.

ME3MP was definitely up there for fun factor. I'll agree that Blacks ops 1 was also fun as hell.
But nothing can beat Halo 2 and 3.

Weren't you in diapers when Goldeneye on the 64 came out?

I loved Halo 2-3 but it didn't have the staying power for me to play or for hours on end each day like ME3 and Cod. Believe it or not... I played Halo 1 on gamefly a TON back in the day, because none of us had XBL.

Great another COD lover. <_<

Why can't people quit comparing ME3 Multiplayer to COD's multiplayer? They look nothing alike. -_-

You got something to say about CoD players or PvPers bro? B)

Why is a bioware game being compared to this xXl33tnoscope42069Xx game? I hope ME4 has more RPG elements and less Call of Duty appeal.

You mean a work of art with things like:

Invisible enemies
Warp glitch
Incinerate glitch
Inferno nades glitch
Geth Prime stunlock
Invincible enemies glitch
Missile glitch
Credit Hax
6/6/6/6/6 glitch
Etc.
Etc.
Etc.

Get over yourself scrub. This game is flawed beyond comprehension... Crap like this would NEVER EVER fly in the PvP world. Stop being a fanboy and look at things objectively.

How the hell do you program a multiplayer RPG that isn't an MMO or turn based game?

yep this stuff is what makes me think they didn't QA test the multiplayer soundly, the proof is right here.

Eh, no. I love the Mass Effect franchise but a work of art it surely is not.

I don't care about what engine they use, but they should expand character trees and keep RNGs.  Maybe add random loot?  You know, RPG stuff.

The only thing the next engine needs for sure is more hilarious ragdoll physics and destructible environments.

Now on the serious side (well, as serious as it can get in a topic that's comparing CoD with ME, wtflol): any future ME MP could do a LOT good to learn from shooter gunplay mechanics. I don't mean just CoD, but also Battlefield, Team Fortress and other titles.

And the good thing is, without any PvP (as is likely for the next MP iteration!), the devs can really go and make the weapons diverse without having to balance them in a zero sum to each others, cause no one will be shooting back with those same guns. They can make guns with some real unique character.

Because frankly, the gunplay in ME3 MP is downright boring. Aim at target, press trigger, continue until target dead. And there's basically only three weapons that need recoil compensation, those being the Revenant, Typhoon and Hurricane. And on top of that, ME3 has kits that even do the recoil compensation for you.

That's kindergarden gunplay to be perfectly honest.

To be fair though, the ME devs never made an MP like this before, so I don't really hold them up to such standards and the MP was fun to play for a time being (a great long time in fact), but in any future MP, I want them to do much, MUCH better. And looking things up from prolific titles such as CoD, Bf, TF, GoW, BL can only help.

I've played all the bioware games and put over 1000 hours into mass effect 3.  Played CoD for a bit at a friends house and was not even inspired to purchase the game.

I know Bioware used games like Gears of War to farm a few ideas for Mass Effect gameplay.  I just hope they don't let those unoriginal, generic trash games ruin the original flavor.

Well, I said look things up, not necessarily just copy and paste all of it. What fits gets implemented, what doesn't quite fit gets tweaked, what doesn't fit stays ignored.

But you can only agree that a game with gunplay, which obviously includes ME, can only profit from a better gunplay.

yeah, I'll agree with that.

At this point though I'm kinda curious how many ME 3 multiplayer gamers come from a CoD background and how many come from an RPG background.  I'm sure they are not mutually exclusive but it would be an interesting poll.

Admittedly much more fun to play, but I still hate the whole hard cover thing.

I can tell you already that ME was my very first shooter gameplay game I had ever played and that ME3 MP was the first shooter MP I had ever played. I was almost exclusively TBS (Civilization) and RTS (Command & Conquer) player before hand, with RTS the only one I played online in MP.

Actually it was also ME that really served to reintroduce me to RPG games after I had stopped playing Pokemon a good time beforehand, took up Dragon Age Origins not short after I played ME.

Though now I also play a good deal Battlefield and am ogling the new CoD release with a bit reluctant eyes.

I come from a CoD, GoW and other PC FPS background as well as several RPGs, flight sims, platformers, RTS, etc. I like all good games. I initially balked at ME3MP... Then someone took me under their wing, showed me how to farm FBW/G/G and believe it or not... It was the RNG that set the hooks initially. My interest only grew from there as I figured out how to cause tech bursts, biotic explosions and generate them through team compositions.

The game was far more interesting IMO back in those days... Before the players became OP and the enemies became pushovers. I enjoyed 4 players camping... Who were terrified for their lives... Who had to work together to make it work, far more than the current 4-rambos style gameplay we have now. It was more unique IMO.

Yeah, the power creep really did a number on the fun. Plus then later came the RNG woes.
