Actually it was also ME that really served to reintroduce me to RPG games after I had stopped playing Pokemon a good time beforehand, took up Dragon Age Origins not short after I played ME.

+ 1 for that.  You and megabeast don't really fit my stereotype for CoD players.  

Basically Dumdum, you can get all the call of duty you want by playing........... call of duty.  And I better not catch you in any pug lobbies.

I get what you're saying, but CoD had had YEARS to perfect it's engine, formula, mechanics, etc. You can't expect ME3's MP to be anywhere near the polish of CoD seeing how it was Bioware's first attempt at it.

CoD has also had its fair share of bugs and exploits. MW2 was a total hack-fest.

This is all coming from a Call of Duty fanboy, by the way.

Lol, I will admit that I wasn't being objective.  It's just something that I don't personally like, therefore it sucks on a technical level.

But I wouldn't call me 3 multi a masterpiece, just very addictive.  Like civilization in that way.  Just.. one .. more turn.

Admittedly I've only skimmed over the whole thread but I didn't notice any fanboy comments, just the usual over the top CoD hate. As for the glitch fixing comparison, isn't it just the PvP nature of Call of Duty which necessitates fixing exploits and OP setups quickly? Those things are much less serious (though still annoying) in a PvE game.

Here it comes:

I hate CiV. It's garbage next to the glorious CIV and Civ II. Personal opinion, have not played any expansions for CiV (because the game sucked so bad at the start that it convinced me to drop it alltogether and never invest a single penny in it anymore).


Played thousands of hours in Civ II and CIV though.

End of rant.

I'm not a hardcore Civ player, I always just go to war with every single faction I come across.
It reminds me a bit of Medieval II.

I'll just capture New York and then get an alliance with Catherine, then I'm done.  But Catherine is so cold and turns on you at the slightest provocation.  Alright, I'll just carpet bomb the Russian empire.

Essentially... Yes. But... Last time I checked, both games cost the same amount of money, both come with single and multiplayer options. Why does one get off the hook but the other doesn't? 

I'm not saying I dislike ME3MP... I've got 2,000 hours that says otherwise. I just see it for what it is... Tacked on, flawed, relatively thoughtless horde mode. It's my love for the universe, the diversity of kits and the quality folks that play the game that keep me still playing. I'd be lying if I said BSN didn't play a large role in my ME3MP addiction as well.

Ah, I see. I'm the opposite, I try to be subversive, build up a strong power base and then take on isolated empires. I only ever start large conflicts when I am bored (like that one time I orchestrated a modern era worldwar between the remaining 15 factions, ohhh boy ). But in CiV, the Ai starts naggin on you at every turn so I couldn't play like that. Your more aggressive playstyle wouldn't notice a difference though if you go to war instantly anyway.

I only ever tried Dimplomacy on Galactic civ II.
And that was just to gain allies for a war against the lolAI with the massive empire and the Class 24 planet.
