I would like someone to tell me the benefits of Legacy. It was just bought in the PS store a few minutes ago with no thought, and I would like to know where my money is going.
Is their item benefits? Is it just there for more story? Are there leveling advantages? And most importantly, is it worth the money? And is there anything else about it that I'm missing?
A simple yes-no will do for these questions since spoilers aren't allowed in this forum.
And I may even be in the wrong forum for this question too (not really sure). But it would be nice to know what I'm paying for, and BSN is the best place to go to for this information since looking it up in the wikipedia would spoil any potential story it has. Could care less about learning of any items or its details. Just don't wanna be spoiled of the story. ^^
What is Dragon Age II Legacy?

Legacy is a story DLC. A maybe three hour long story that sheds some light on Hawke's father, the darkspawn and the grey wardens. Nice story, new rather big areas, gameplay improvements (regarding the waves in which enemies arrive), some really interesting battles. And lots of new companion banter and involvement (take your sibling with you, Varric and Anders also have pretty much content).
You'll get 1-2 levels more if you play it and it has lots of interesting gear,
I think it's worth your money.

Besides what Forst said, the DLC can be played at any time in Dragon Age 2, including post-finale, and sheds some light on a hotly-contest piece of Thedas lore — namely, where the darkspawn came from.

Pretty much all this. ^^
It's a standalone adventure and, most importantly, a rather good one. It's basically a long side quest in unique environments so fairly conspicuously bolted on rather than woven into the vanilla game the way The Exiled Prince is, but that aside I think it's generally considered a very good DLC.
In fact I seem to recall the fans here at BSN got rather into a tizz because most gaming sites only gave it a mediocre rating - judging it harshly to compensate for over-marking the vanilla game.
