*hides behind cover*

*dodges missiles and biotic attacks*

ok after you all blow through your attacks and I have one bar of health left PLEASE hold off! I love MMO's-played since MUDS then UO-but after SWG, DaOC everything else failed, or didn't live up to what it should have been-never played WOW. Remember the idea of Shadowbane? great idea! crappy implementation!

ok ME3 MP is DAMN fun! sometimes I want more. I'd like to be able to visit planets and vistas that are now rebuilding or perhaps still fighting...

your character can be <insert race/kit here> during Shepard's ME3 SP run.. perhaps you even run into him during a few missions and 'help out' his team..

I'd like it to be what SWTOR isn't, semi-theme park (because that's were the $$ is at I guess) and a bit of sandbox element to it as well.

Crafting- you need materials right.. like in ME2 you'd need to either: a- do it yourself or b- purchase it
perhaps weapons can be made?! armors!

Ship battles! remember all those neat cut scenes of space fighting! I want in on that action!

I under stand Eve has this but doesn't have the ground fighting. I'm not sure how it would work but similar to say SWG where it was set within a timeline and that worked. Obviously balancing would be tough.. not sure how pvp would be balanced

I'd like ME4 MP to have a bit more than the-incredible fun- MP we currently have.. Perhaps add some ship MP fun..

In all seriousness something like Defiance (but less focussed) could work. Not truly MMO imo with more of a SP Campaign with players replacing mook/teammate AI. We wouldn't see anything like TES Online, Diablo or Warframe but something could be worked out with MMO-Elements (mainly PvE combat) even if a true MMO would be incredibly difficult and stupid to incorporate. Also PvP would need to be duel-based a la Borderlands to prevent griefing/need for power balance.

It could work, but only if it's done properly.

This saying relates to just about anything, but you get my point.

Did a Star Wars MMO work?

An MMO could work, but not another WoW clone. It would need to have pretty much the same combat you have in ME3, only with an open world in the galaxy that we can run around in with other players.

Space battles seem nice, but it's rare that a developer does that really well unless they base their entire game around it. If it was a copy of SWtoR's on rails minigame I'd rather not have it personally

Of course this is all probably irrelevant because they're already running SWtoR still, and MMOs are among the most expensive games to make and maintain.

Actually yes, it was a commercial success with positive reviews aggregating scores of more than 80%  in reviews and being labelled the fastest growing MMO ever. It even won Game of the Year (though not from an actually reputable source, lol msnbc). With a little more thought and care as far as combat went it wouldn't have lost a couple of hundred thousand subscribers after the first week. Still it's maintained enough of a fanbase to gain an expansion.

EDIT: ****ing formatting.

To be fair, reviews of most MMOs are useless because they don't review the end game due to how long it takes to get there, which is where SWtoR fell short and then tanked in subscribers after being the fastest growing MMO ever.

Admittedly, I believe it's doing decent right now however it dropped quite a bit further than the other "Not World of Warcraft" MMOs.

Yeah but you'd be comparing it to games like WoW, Diablo (both overseen by Blizzard, arguably the kings of MMOs) and Planetside 2 (which used a different overall... system? Not the right word...). You wouldn't compare WoW to Planetside 2 and yet SW:TOR took a different approach than Planetside 2 and really fell short. The only MMOFPS that can really be consider a modern success is Planetside 2. Defiance, was a bit of a letdown with bugs and terrible connection issues galore combined with a general lack of a true MMO feel.

I'd love an MMO with TB combat.

Any MMO using any lore with a well flushed out universe could "work". But people need to realise that things are more than the sum of their parts. Simply making a game that has all the races and places in it won't make it a Mass Effect game. Mass Effect is about the experience. MMOs just can't provide the same things that make ME appealing as a series.

All true.  Typically going F2P in a year is a negative sign for an MMO.

And yet Planetside 2 isn't P2P.

I'd be interested in the idea... If they could capture the atmosphere/ambiance of the single player campaign. I'd be keen to try anything Mass Effect related provided a reputable source (trusted friend) says it's good.

It's just alright. Just the combat and story is kinda lame. I'm not even in a guild i'm such a loser lol.
Nothing can replace the first Guild Wars and vanilla WoW in my heart though. <3

Diablo isn't an MMO.

and why even bother mentioning Planetside 2? SWtoR and WoW aren't anything like that game.

SWtoR is pretty much WoW with a coat of sci-fi paint on it and the standard BioWare dialogue.
