Edit: Of course based of the criteria stated in the OP: 
I base my evaluation of a character on several things:  survivability, damage output, and perhaps most importantly, versatility.

Opinion on the best characters =/= favorite characters; my list would be quite different.

At any rate, this thread has a lot of gold in it. Seeing someone list a character that I don't think is very good forces me to take a closer look.  Especially if someone provides some commentary/thoughts on their rationales.

I thought this thread was about personal favourite characters, not an objective discussion of the strongest characters in the game...correct? So we can list any character we like. I'm not such a big fan of the fury and geth pyro, but I can acknowledge that they're very powerful characters.

I noticed the same thing.  

Also, are people serious about listing Volus?  I mean, really.  If I was to make a list of the top 10 worst characters, they'd be the bottom 4 (or however many we have).

To be honest, the Vanguard and the Engineer are not bad characters by any stretch of imagination. They're pretty good. Not in my top 10 definitely, but they're solid. The adept and the sentinel, on the other hand...

Me too. I was under the notion that it is "your" top ten toons you play in the game. But I didn't read into OP's definition.

I'm sorry to trash your class To be fair the DI is a great class, there's just more potential with the other Drell IMO. Cluster grenades are too good on them.

Based on the responses I got above, this is indeed a Thread regarding my personal favorites The Top 10 Best Character in the game.
Only the most badass Bestest Character in the game. What you actually like is utterly irrelevant as far as this thread is concerned.

Of course my personal favorites The Top 10 Best Character in the game are the Vegan ones. No biased at all here folks, 22th century Vegan Power all the way.

In order for a ME3MP Charater to be Vegan is has to fit into either of the following categories:

- Quarians
- Synthetics

Other races can potentialy achieve Vegan Enlightment (like this very human right here), but we shall be quite conservative when it comes to our absolute Top 10 Galaxy Heroes.

Thus, my personal favorites The Top 10 Best Character in the game are the following:

1. GT
2. GI
3. GJ
4. GE
5. QFE
6. QME
7. QFI
8. QMI
9. QMS
10. AIU

For UUG:

1. GI with almost every weapon.
2. Ghost: Unlimited OpsPacks, TC, Turian Passives and Overload...
3. AIU with a Shotgun: Free Medigel, TC and Snap Freeze

4. Trooper with Acolyte and Flamer
5. Drell Adept: Extremely agile plus Reave > Cluster nades combo
6. Drell Assassin:
7. N7 Fury
8. Valkyrie
9. Huntress because of TC plus DC
10. Cabal: High health/shields, biotic focus and turian passives
