Yeah, cloth physics and all that.

Still, wouldn't he have been 83% more badass if he had a billowing cape behind him? Moving around? Billows. Charging? Blows like a leaf in the wind. Close-range Phase Disruptor? Billows. Not only that, but you look damn heroic. Since Vanguards are basically the closest thing we have to medics (Charge at an enemy about to stomp an ally and rez them while the enemy is stunned), that also means they're manly. And manly people are heroic.

Imagine it. Love it.

Edit: Oh, and he has a sword. Cape + sword = awesome, even if it's a ninja blade.

Let me explain as briefly as possible.


cyborg ninja = awesome

Hand cannon = awesome

monomolecular blade = awesome

Biotics = awesome

Capes = awesome

Put all of that together and you'll sync kill every platform from the awesomeness. Therefore, no capes is a necessary evil to ensure the playability of the game.
