Seriously though, as cool as it'd be for each race to get its own mount, I'm assuming we're all gettin on horsies.

I feel sorry for the poor horse that has to carry a Qunari.

I understand that WoW did it first?

i dont know whether to laugh or be disgusted tbh, he gets the last topic locked then gets rewarded by usurping it in its reincarnation.

I dont know the thinking that was behind allowing him start the topic but it's out of order and the mods should've at the least had the decency to allow shinobi602 to re-create his topic

Well at least a mod made a edit to the OP to include it. Then again this was never about Gameinformer but about the attention feeding their ego on the back of others work.

So, Cassandra had the murder knife first?

Don't forget in Dawn of the Seeker, Cassandra comes from a line of Nevarran dragon hunters and is able to drop on the baddies' dragon like Riordan but with far better results.  It seems my technique of loading up on fire protection and blasting the dragon with cold based spells is passe.

I have not in fact watched Dawn of the Seeker, so I wouldn't know anything about it.

I take it I should watch it?

If the animation style doesn't make you sick or bust out laughing or crying...

it's passably enjoyable.  I like it... but just.  I don't love it.  It's alright.

It IS better than that Dragonlance Chronicles travesty, so there's that.

Eh. I'll keep following the month's coverage, if it seems necessary, I'll watch it.

Otherwise, cliffnotes and summaries.

It's nice. I like the cell shading technique, and I like the story.Ok. it's a Japanese-style but it is done well.
And I looooove Cassandra. <3

Great info and more just keeps on coming! What a way to end a summer ^^ I'm super happy about the races coming back even though I was ok with a human protagonist too.

Also I gotta say that everything they've shown so far is looking great! I had wondered if the art style and the over all visuality of the new game would differ from DAO and DA2 because of the new engine. But everything I've seen so far has been instantly recognizable as belonging to a Dragon Age game. So well done in that regard too!

Here you go.

The Elves are at the top.

Thank  you so much.  I've been waiting for a couple of years for the retooled elven design.  They look so much better than the DA2 elves.  The ears are still too droopy, goblin like, but they have another 16 months before release to hopefully correct that.

Just weird that the game's called Dragon Age and we hardly see them.

hmm, did you miss the part about the Dragon Age being called like that because it was the first time in a few centuries that a dragon was seen?

Dragons have been considered extinct since the Steel Age (thanks to the Pentaghast clan, the familly of badasses that rule Nevarra). They are only coming back now, that's why there are so few of them. *cough*Flemeth is involved in this return*cough*.

I expect to learn more in DAI.

Yeah, then there's the comics and you have Yavana talking about bringing dragons back and stuff.

Hope there's a lot to do with that in this game.

I noticed the reference to the "five game plan and beyond"
I hope journalists stop deluding themselves into thinking it's a trilogy

unlike ME series which was centered around 1 person (shepard) i think DA has the abillity to go well beyond even 5 games, the world setting is massive, there's so much lore already in the games for them to build off of (what happened to the elves in the brecilian forest and how it hints at a forgoten bit of thier history, the ancient dwarves, the darkspawn, the list goes on)

of course, bioware would have to find a way to store all of our decisions somewhere outside the games so continuity doesn't get messed up

I thought Alistair killed her in one of the books.
Of course all this is going to motivate people to buy the books, comics, Dawn of the Seeker anime, World of Thedas typos and all, and anything else they buy.
May help the boardgame sales.

He did. But you never know. If they want a character back, they'll find a way.

books not being canon? they can just ignore them and slot people in that they want with no problems. (so long as they give a bit of a backstory)

Ooh, I wonder if they'll mention how much the comics and books affect the story and content of the game, since apparently the latest novel is important and was heavily emphasized as something that should be read.
