I just rewatched the video where Mark says that the Inquisitor is the "sole survivor" of what caused the tear in the sky and I'm starting to believe that we are going to have the amnesiac trope thrown at us...

No, Flemeth is going to swoop in at the beginning of the game and save us, just like in DA:O and DA II.

Flemeth, our something in shining armor.

Since we still don't know what she really is.

Hopefully she looks different this time too. Constantly changing her appearance.

Thats a theory. The idea that she changes her appearance for different people.

The Warden+Alistair=Old hag

The Hawkes=Mature Dragoness

The Inquisitor=Remains to be seen

It would certainly make a consistency for her character rather than another pointless ret-con in DA2.

Come to think of it, you think Flemeth will be responsible for the PC surviving the sky opening? She seems to make a habit of that. She spots the latest hero, saves them from a catastrophic event that should have killed them (the Warden and Alistair at Ostagar, the Hawkes and Aveline outside of Lothering, and soon the Inquisitor for the Fade Tear?), gets them started on their Hero's Journey and enables them to change Thedas history. That she would show up in different guises every time would be icing on the cake. =)

I'm inclined to think it'll be Morrigan doing the saving this time around, if such saving is necessary.

She's definitely a meddler so it's a sound theory. The question is: Why is she meddling? And who is she? After all, we know she was watching Sandal as well as our character.

she was?!!? i don't remember that bit from the games.
and bioware better explain her and the darkspawn in this game (elf history hinted at in DA:O would be icing on the cake for me)

that cliche is over used

at this point using it is beyond beating the dead horse

Can be done good anyway.

What I want to know is how being the sole survivor makes a good candidate for the Inquisition.

Amnesia or forgotten pasts seem to work for Obsidian, so why not BioWare?

Either that or she's going to try to kill us this time, just to mix things up a little bit.

In DA2. Sandal talks about some "scary lady" and people think its Flemeth.

Bianca when it comes to bowstring talk doesn't count.

We're talking enemies and ourselves, longbows and the like.

Bianca didn't have strings in DAII, so it does count in my book.

I'm just afraid they'd have given her more attention than the usual.

It'll be updated tomorrow (Monday).

Also, I really don't care about bowstrings. I also never cared about horses, though lol.

Then again, horses really weren't necessary before. With the changes to the map, they make far more sense than they did before. I mean, they would have been okay, but would have purely been a cosmetic feature. I'm all for cosmetic features, but I don't generally prioritize them very high.
