It's just they keep mentioning elves and dwarves specifically :(

Like Laidlaw said in this very video, they don't want to talk about anything unless it's absolutely buttoned down and sure to be in the game, which isn't the case for kossith.

That said, I'm not too optimistic about it either. :/

I really hope this time around Mages get more weapon choices than simply staves.

I'm that they decided to give pants to the good ol'mages. Not to mention that he doesn't wear a stupid hat, which is always a plus, not that I even used those things.

And another thing that I noticed...LONG HAIR? The female dwarf has quite an interesting ponytail going on, I would love to see that in game.

Glad to see the 'mage' isn't wearing a long robe and is wearing something more practical. And I do like the look of the rogue.

Hopefully Templars don't wear dresses anymore too :P

Well the rogue armour looks great ...he has a hood and everything!
I just love that type of mysterious silouhette.
But hey I will be playing mage , and probably end up with some awful orlesians mage hat.
And those mage pants look very 70's.

I think the mage pants are actually just normal pants, but the reason they look flared is that the mage's jacket/coat  has split coattails.

edit: andar91 beat me to it. :'v

That's okay, you explained it much better than I did. Coattails is a good word.

Noo, my hammer pants.

Minor correction to the mage Exploration Skills Toolbox that Filament puzzled out - it's actually 'Energize' not 'Energy' - so I am going to guess that it might let mages activate things magically; perhaps it allows them to imbue mechanisms or obstacles with kinetic energy.

From what I see out of the branches, Rogues 2, Mages and Warriors 3?

It might be more complex than that. For all we know, those icons are multiple tiers of one ability (like skills in DA:O). Or not all of the skills are represented  on those charts.

Oh, I'm aware. And I've been campaigning for more of them ever since. There were times in DA2 where I was seriously sad that I had to switch to one of those ugly, generic robes. I just think the pants look better as well as more practical. I love Anders' and Merrill's outfit designes; they seem to reference robes without looking lumpy and bad.

I hope that mage pants become the norm.

I think that circle mages should keep a more robe-y sort of look though. Apostates however, PANTS

Aren't all mages apostates now? :P

I just think they look better, but I get what you mean. And sure, when you're just hanging out in the Circle tower, robes make sense. When I'm out in the world running about? I want pants. But I'd still accept pants for all. Fashions do change over time, after all.

I very much want robes for my mage. Robes suit mages.

I do like the look of the mage armor in that shot. Now that the mages are a guerrilla army, I fully expect more pants to be worn by them.

if you watch carefully in pre-alpha gameplay the character they are using is wearing a grey warden armor and the guy riding a horse is wearing grey warden commander, that means something? maybe the inquisitor is or was a grey warden?
