I think 2 things are clear here:

1) The focus remains on companion-switching and tactics
2) Combat, though tactical, will be more action-based and less build around queueing abilities.

So maybe instead of pausing and telling Anders to use this, Varric to use that, I have to actually switch between them and make them use those abilities directly.

Episodes with ruined castle - there is a writing "Adamant. Pursue Knight - Commander X" at right top of the screen. Could anyone read the name there?

Yay! It could be him! I bet he is an romance option as well, that kinky beard <3

I don´t think so. He looks a little bit too old. Also Cassandra and Cullen are both warriors
and if Bioware isn´t insane both romance partners. This guy is more a mentor companion like Jolee Bindo.

aw I'd trade Cullen for an aging badass grey warden romance any day

the mage combat looks pretty good , the warrior meh.
I thought it really lacks fluidity , both characters seemed very stiff when they were moving ..looks quite bad.

To me combat system (at this point) looks exactly like DA2 with improved AI, no waves of endless enemies and even more action-focused and less team oriented.

I can understand your point of view if it was Assassins Creed  Inquisition And you play the role of the leader of the Spanish  Inquisition

Ironically it seems the spanish inquisition wasn´t the worst (not like that means much though...). But at least they didn´t believe in witchcraft.

Looks really good. Not sure how it'll work with pause/party based mechanics, since the warrior seemed to require a lot of real time input from the player. I can see myself getting tunnel vision with controlling one party member and then suddenly noticing all my followers have died.

It's not nearly as fast as DA2 combat was. So yeah, that's a good thing.

Also, it might be too early to say this given its character model but notice the rogue doesn't teleport? Around 1:35, it goes into stealth and you see the shadow moving to position, which is a fantastic improvement if you ask me.

Technically I don't believe enemy rogues ever teleported. They stealthed and moved into position similarly, but you couldn't see the shadow. Teleporting was a PC rogue/enemy mage feature.

As I remember it they used to vanish, then remain in place for a few seconds (when you could AoE them out of stealth), then appear at the target for the attack. Did they used to actually move properly? I honestly don't remember.

Either way I hope it carries over to player characters, you're right that they were at least the worst, most obvious offenders.

Also, when he left steath he didn't gib the warrior in an instant, which would be another plus if it stays that way.

I have to say as someone who doesn't usually focus on the combat elements of these games, the video has piqued my interest. I'm quite curious as to how many scenarios there will be in terms of what weapons/abilities should/should not be used on various enemies and how far they will take the tactical aspect of gameplay.

I look forward to seeing what Josh and the team will come up with :)

That warrior looked more like something taken from the Witcher than Dragon Age. Strafing, needs input all the time (is it too much to ask flanking in the tactics menu?). Seemed way too actiony, more ven than DA2. Worrying.

The need to strafe could be solved with a party and flanking.

Wow, I hope you could zoom way further back than this, so far it doesn't really look party based to me.

What was the time mark for that? I didn't see it.

2:49 I think. 3:00 as well. Looks like it's fortress from E3 trailer?

Vid is glitching like hell for me - Why can Gi upload it to Youtube or something?

Watched it on the computer. It honestly looks like it says Adamant - Pursue Knight - Commander Cullen

So... you have to kick Cullen's butt in order to get him to join you?  And how did he become the Knight-Commander?  I guess he automatically was promoted when Meredith died?

I think it says Knight-Commander Cullen.
I could be wrong but that's what it looks like to me. The name after Commander seems to start with a C.

EDIT: Ninja-d by Chanda.

I'd like to know wtf is this "harpoon" device they described? It seems like a sci-fi or super hero ability and not medieval fantasy tech at all.

A literal harpoon. As in a spear with a rope attatched that you throw at people.

To me it seems like it's just a chain you have tied at your hip.
They said its made out of metal, which is why it's a bad idea to throw it at electrified enemies.

Seems more action oriented than DA2. And if the camera is fixed, please let us adjust the fov.

That's because it's an alpha, not the final build of the game.

It looks really good. Though that bit with the tank guy looked slow, was it because they were fighting on sand? You know, sand slowing you down usually and things? He seemed to have something chucking up behind him as he moved.

Looked desert-like.

I dunno. Looked good. Well excited :D

A lot of the talking is saying the right things in general, but the more concrete stuff seems very action focused.

I know, I know, this is too way way too early to get worried. But just saying to any Bioware guys reading that it'd be nice to get some show to go along with tell for the tactical side of things.

I know.
But I think i got a bad first impression because I just really don't like the 2 handed sword warrior.
I had the same problem with The Witcher , I just think the way they run around with their big sword looks ridiculous at best.

And to be honest overall , the few  fire spell , landscape etc looks marvelous .
I'm just a bit whiny these days .
