Maybe , he seems like a higher up in terms of rank. Because we've already had our fair share of rookie grey wardens,  it's a strong bet that this one will be a veteran (possibly on the brink of the calling). There really hasn't been an "old and wise" male companion as a follower , I really hope he's the father figure of the group (like wynne was the mother figure)

I wonder when the DAI website will be updated. Not the Game Informer Portal, but the actual website. I always think it's fun to peruse them, and it gets really fun when they start uploading game info and creatures and such. Except DA2's website wasn't that great in my opinion. It was like they sort of forgot about it. But still.

And I am also interested in the Grey Warden guy.

I've just realized that in the pre-alpha part the dude was playing the PC version with a controller. Maybe DA will finally support a controller for pc?

I'm no game dev but it could just be that they were using a controller because they were playing on whatever devkit was made for consoles.
