"We had to hire a CRIME REPORTER specifically just to do the work neccessary to chronicle the work involved (with keeping track of all the lore)..."
Seriously? That's pretty intense.
The former crime reporter is Ben Gelinas, the lead author of The World of Thedas lore book, if I remember correctly.

From the article on GI:
"BioWare has to scale back on the time spent on the romances in the grander scheme of the project. "The follower characters in general are enormously complex," Gaider says. "They're a massive investment in terms of gameplay and storytelling.""We try to push ourselves," Laidlaw adds. "We try to do things we haven't done before. We try to explore characters we haven't done before, but there comes a point in which you can afford only so much crazy."The team often has to reel themselves in, and they're well aware of criticisms about fans wanting more detailed, realistic romances. "
No where does the article say that DAI will have less romance then previous games, all it states is that the team has to keep themselves in check when it comes to romance, much like they had to do the last 2 games. Everyone is getting up in arms for no reason.

The way I read the GI update is Bioware is cutting back on romances, in DAI, and may have to cut further " in the grander scheme of things".
As I have said I believe they want a game comparable to skyrrim and deemphasizing romances, is part of the natural progression of getting there.
Making Bioware less of a nitch player in rpgs to a bigger player like Bethesda.
shrugs.

It shouldn't come as a surprise. A Song of Ice and Fire was one of the inspirations for Dragon Age.

Yeah I'm actually surprised the Wiki doesn't contain more Song of Ice and Fire triva because the whole series is rife with easter eggs.

You can add them if you know where they are. Or contact whoever runs the wiki.

I'm not so sure.
Fans were promised things about ME3.
For someone to say they're sure DAI will have as much romantic content as the previous games is just showing optimism like the ME3 fans had.
Trust all you want but verify.
shrugs.
We'll see.

Why would Inquisition have less content than Dragon Age 2, a game that only had 11 months development time, when Inquisition has been given more than that as an extension? It's not even like there was a substantial amount of romance content to begin with.

Even in DAO you had to go through some time to get to the romances, where in DA2 you could be locked in and ready after the first player-induced conversation after joining.

You're kidding, right? With the way the romances are handled in DA2 (read: nobody but Sebastian has any preference and will sleep with anything that moves) you've effectively got 50% more romance than you did in DAO, and it's not only more prominent, but handled much more clumsily. Even in DAO you had to go through some time to get to the romances, where in DA2 you could be locked in and ready after the first player-induced conversation after joining.
More talking and characterization, less mindless leg humping please.

So I don't know if it just went up or something, but there's a new update that apparently isn't the last one. It's a video about the lore. http://www.gameinfor...dragon-age.aspx
It's nothing huge. It's just Mike Laidlaw talking about some stuff about the series in general. Nothing actually new about DAI that I could see except for, perhaps, the restatement that they want to tie up some loose ends.
Also, those clocks are precious!
