My first character was a female dwarf noble, but my favorite character was my casteless female dwarf.daveliam wrote...
Wow. I think I might be the first person to have actually started with a dwarf as my first character. I made a male dwarven noble sword and shield warrior for my first playthrough. Then, I made a male human noble warrior and male human mage before settling on my female dwarven noble warrior for my "canon" character.
Of course, since then, I've also done a female dwarven commoner rogue, female city elf rogue, and male dalish elf ranger. And those are just the ones that I've finished with. And I just started a new game yesterday because the gameinformer article got me jazzed up again. Wow, I've really played this game too much......
What was your first DA character?

Male Human Mage. Made it to the Deep Roads in Origins before I stopped playing, because the layout of that entire quest is just f**king horrible.
I came back to the game about a year later and powered through it with a Human Noble Warrior (also male).

dalish elf warrior, romanced mirri and did the dark ritual, unfortunately I suffered the morrigan romance flag glitch and didnt save the golden mirror to bring the romance back, so I have to replay the whole game for this character and it bores me just to think about it

My first DA character was a Human Noble Female, who was a warrior I think (so long ago). My first DAII character was a rogue.
My personal canon Warden came after though, my city elf female rogue with a slightly bad streak. I love her most, and for DA: II my canon Hawke is a female mage who is good/humorous. As for recreating a favorite character, I think I'm going to go a whole different angle in Inquisition. I like changing it up depending on the characters origin/the story of the game.

A Dalish Rogue. He crossed the battlefield with two axes and appeared from shadow! He isn't the canon of my story, no that spot is reserved for my... Dalish Rogue. I just did some different things with the second one, so I don't know if that counts.

My first Dragon Age character was a Dwarf Noble Warrior named Dao. Would have loved to import him, but they never released the second chapter of Dragon Age Journeys.
My first character in DAO was also a Dwarf Noble Warrior named Dao (depicted left). Ran him as a shield/dual weapon build. I've actually been replaying him recently, in preparation for DAI (I make it a habit to make a start game save in case I do want to do a replay with the same character).
I don't really have a "canon" character, but he probably would be the closest, as I'll be using my replay to import into DAII and then into my first run of DAI. I may remake him in DAI, but if so, it will probably be using a different character import from DAO.

My first DAO character was a city elf. But my last and Best one was a human male noble NAMED AIZEN. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO WATCH BLEACH you know that name it's self is pure untainted power.

My first warden was a sword and board noble warrior. He also had a white beard and was really old. I had no idea of the expected age of the character when I created it. The characters that will carry over will both be mages of some sort.

First time I played DAO was at a friend's house while I was house sitting his cats. Was on Xbox. Created a female Dalish elf rogue and got up to... redcliff maybe? Honestly can't remember now. When I went back home after the weekend I immediately bought it on steam, but rolled a female human rogue that time around so I could see a different origin. So glad I did, I would have been distraught had I been dumped by Alistair

Female dwarf. Noble, I think, though overall I prefer commoner.

First was a noble Dwarf. I picked him because I thought the whole human thing to be very boring. After playing the game a bunch of times, I think the Human noble origin is the best in the game. DA2 was a male warrior Hawke. DAI I will definitely play first as a Dwarf character. I think the Dwarf face models looks absolutely fantastic.

City Elf Rogue and a Mage Elf... couldn't decide which one I liked most. The Rogue was my tank, the Mage was my healer attempt at a pacifist play through.

Emelia, city elf warrior with a two-hander on her back.
She never got to import since DAO was very difficult to play on my old non-HD TV. Once I got myself a proper TV and wanted to try again, I felt like I had to restart the game. So I did, with a a human mage named Elvahna.

My first DAO character was a female human noble s&s warrior. My first DA2 character was a female mage, who was diplomatic/kind. Both very cookie-cutter, looking back on it.
Canon, however, is a female dwarf commoner rogue and a female direct/aggressive mage... so quite different from the early days!

My first character was a male human warrior which i abandoned after a few hours as i did not like the warriors in DAO. I then played a rogue elf and then a female mage.

A male human mage was the first character I played as but it was a playthrough I didn't finish. I can't really recall how far I got. The first person I finished it with was a female Dalish elf.

Ödigun Aeducan. Dwarven Noble Dual Wield Warrior and probably the only of my Dragon Age characters I never replayed.
First time is too epic to try and redo.
