I'm up to level 8 on my Warlock, almost all story, the competitive MP needs some fine tuning, or I need better gear, or whatever.
Besides that I am pretty impressed, it has nice graphics, the enemies are smart and challenging, the weapons all have their drawbacks and advantages etc...
I may start a Titan when I get some more free time to play

As far as the Beta goes, I know that feel.
Levels have no benefits in multiplayer unless playing the Iron Banner.
seems like Hunters and Titans dominate competitive
but being able to go explodey magicy purple stuff is more fun

Oh, it's started now. But it's at 1% and it's sat at it for 5 minutes, apparently because it is installing 17.8GB for an unknown reason.

Turns out I was right.
Jumped through some reboot hoops and it's working fine now, but it's still going to be past midnight by the time it gets done.
I had no issues with downloading it on the PS3, must have been lucky. Been hearing scary stories all day.

Oh, if I would have gotten it for PS3, it would have worked no problems.
This is mostly just typical glitchy Xbox One stuff, game will run fine once it starts, but Lady Green Heart help you if you can't get it done on the first try.
The consistent knocks being repetitive mission design(go here, kill this thing while Dinklebot talks to you and possibly decrypts something) along with story stuff being sparse/not up to snuff.
I hope the story/narrative is engaging, but apparently the game is more about just shooting things and blowing stuff up. Given I'm getting the game effectively for free as a gift, its not a worry, but I hope I'm not let down.
While Bungie games are not known for their story, their games are very fun and have a fantastic universe. Bungie is great at world building. The game is very fun and while the missions themself can be better it's still great fun so far. I'm only lvl13 and having a blast.
Also the PVP maps as expected from Bungie are extremely well done with a good range of small, medium and large maps.
