On a minor note for PvP:
If your gun has any upgrades those will apply in PvP.
My assault rifle has an upgrade where it fires slower but does more damage when I'm looking down the scope.
Saved me many times there.
The consistent knocks being repetitive mission design(go here, kill this thing while Dinklebot talks to you and possibly decrypts something) along with story stuff being sparse/not up to snuff.
I hope the story/narrative is engaging, but apparently the game is more about just shooting things and blowing stuff up. Given I'm getting the game effectively for free as a gift, its not a worry, but I hope I'm not let down.
It's entertaining, but I'm starting to feel a bit of DA2 with the "Hey remember this area you just cleared out on the last mission? Well you have to go back there again because it got repopulated" thing.
Still having fun with the game, especially in PvP, but the "cave" thing is starting to tick me off.
Lv 13 Titan and the Vex are fun enemies to face, not mention Venus looks great.
Edit:
Finally made it to Venus, decided to do the first mission on hard difficulty because I was overleveled.
Worst mistake I ever made so far...
****** Vex...
How big are the maps in Destiny? Old Russia was rather big with different caves and buildings that could lead you to different areas, but how versatile and big are the other planets compared to Russia?
Am on PS4 if anyone is interested in joining up sometime - username is "AVPen" (same as here, lol).
My initial impressions are pretty similar to Borderlands: going through the game solo I would get bored pretty quickly, but it's incredibly fun with friends.

Destiny is pretty much Borderlands 2+MMO aspects, which I have no issues with.

Yep. With an awesome hoverbike.
I just got my sparrow today, damn that is fun. Boosting through that canyon for the first mission where you get the bike was cool.
Love the sparrow. Bungie has really imp[roved their vehicle handling over the years.
Put some screenshots please.
I also saw some of the later bikes you can buy have L1 and R1 as "lateral evasive manuevers"? What's up with that? Barry Sanders-themed bike pls.
I would, but you'd to specifically ask the PS players, Xbox still hasn't figured out people like that.(even the Vita has it for Gia's sake)Put some screenshots please.

Sony hates PS3 now, no pictures for me ![]()
Unless you want crappy low res pics of my warlock XD
Hit lvl 20 a couple of hours ago. Good game, but god was it over-hyped.

Don't say that, I've never co-op'd in Borderlands ![]()
Woo, finished my second strike.

Bungie games are ALWAYS overhyped, they are still mighty fun.
I wish I could be playing this, but my Ps3 decided to crash a week and a half ago. ![]()

Not surprised. It's one thing when people are overhyping something, and another when the developers goes to the extreme and hypes it like hell. Reading and listening to several interviews and previews, Bungie have done exactly that and have come across as quite arrogant and presumptuous. Them claiming that we should listen to "Day 1 reviews" had me go all "wut?"

I never co-oped in Borderlands either and still had a blast playing it. Other people can be annoying, although I'd still like to play with others in Destiny (PSN name LordDrakkon), lol.
Anyway, I don't have any more screenshots, mostly because the game continues playing while you're in the share button screen so I've not risked action shots yet. But I made a stupid facebook page so I could upload a video of the public event I completed. I wish the update which allows upload to YouTube was ready, I'd rather put it there than making another new account, but still.

Hopefully it works for people. Make sure you hit the HD button on the video, I didn't at first and was horrified by the terrible quality.

They said what? They purposefully didn't ship advance copies so that there wouldn't be Day 1 reviews. Am I missing something?
So, reviews of Destiny will wait for your arrival. On day one, you’ll be rubbing elbows with the pageant judges, so look sharp. Who knows, you may end up on one of their live streams. They may end up on one of yours, too!
For us, this is a first – a new experience. It’s a bit of a risk, too. We fully anticipate seeing day one reviews from folks who decide to kick the tires, but don’t have the time or patience to take our ride for a nice, long road trip. Some of you might wait to pick up a copy until you read the final verdict from your most trusted review house. We’re okay with that. We’ve created something we’re proud of.

Eh, maybe it was just Borderlands 1. Quit after about 4 hours. About halfway through 2 with a friend now and loving it, so it's hard to determine whether I just enjoy 2 much more or if it's because it's co-op (probably both).
