Well, I have a full set of Legendary armor.

 

For my Titan.

 

I did grab the Warlock exotic gauntlets though, and those are nice.

Last night I did some farming and managed to get a legendary engram that got me an exotic shotgun.

I'm 55 seconds in and he already said something that isn't true    It isn't that big of a deal, but I don't want people to be mixed up on it, the $500 million budget was for the franchise, not the one game.

Edit: I do agree with Angry Joe and his three points: it missing story telling inside of the game, having repetitive mission design and the RNG being frustrating.  

 

Edit 2: I just finished watching the review, I felt it was good and very fair. Angry Joe expressed and highlighted all of my disappointment with the game perfectly.

Yep those are my 3 issues with the game too, otherwise it's still a good game and sets up a great franchise.

I don't know, my new Invective shotgun is pretty damn awesome - a shotgun that can fire on full-auto and gets regenerating ammo? Sign me up. 

 

Was also rather tempted to spend all my Motes of Light on an Exotic engram from Xur, but with my luck at engrams lately, decided instead to go buy the "Harlequin Pendulum" Warlock bond from the Speaker instead, lol. 

 

Am getting a little pissy with the Crucible though, so f**king tired of seeing people who don't do much during the match walk away with all the cool Legendary and Exotic gear  Sh*t, last night there was some guy who was AFK the ENTIRE Control match, his reward? An exotic sniper rifle....

But.... He held strong and gave a ONE HUNDRED percent correct review of this game. Well done Joe. Well done.

I more or less agree with the tone of your post, well except for the part where you put Halo up on some sort of pedestal. And the whole they'll never recover aspect, regardless of what you think of the game they will laugh all the way to the bank.

Turns out that I only need 10,000 points from killing players, the game just didn't clarify it. I am about to delete my other exotic bounty though, I have to get 500 points from kills in the crucible through void damage, dying sets my progress back. I am getting tired of getting sniped and gang banged, it is setting me back way too much. Not to mention the only weapons I have that do Void damage are a weak shotgun and a sniper rifle (I can't snipe to save my life), so the Crucible is extremely not fun right now.

Destiny is good for a MMO, but not good enough overall for a next-gen game. The visual part is great, but story is very short and simplified (looks more like a so-so prologue or a nice synopsis). Farming is a key point and main reason to play as in any other MMO out there. This game is OK to spend some time waiting for truly good games, but nothing more than that... Well, in fact I didn't expect more from a MMO. At least it's beautiful and has quite nice gameplay. And as I expected, I really liked defensive variant of Titan class.

Joe exaggerates a bit here and there, but he's still pretty on point.  Story is bankrupt. Awoken are barely explained, Exo's are not explained at all. It was Halo with a really stripped down version of Borderlands.  You've absolutely no clue about the enemies, their philosophies, their means, or their motives for fighting you. 

 

They could have at least put codexes in the game rather than tell you to go online for them. I don't get why they want you to go outside the game to check on the the game. It seems really counter-intuitive.

Luck was on my side yesterday. I got 3 legendary engrams, one that turned into the exotic Patience and Time sniper rifle, one into a strange coin, and the last one turned into a blue rare item. But I did get a blue rare engram that turned into a legendary machine gun, The Culling. I still need to find or buy some legendary armor though.

Destiny gets a bad wrap.

 

You can criticize the story all you want but the bottom line is that it's not a game about story, It's an MMO and no MMO's have a good story.

 

The other big criticizism is the loot system and to that I say you all are a bunch of whiny babies. If anything I think the loot system gives too much good loot!

 

I've been playing for 2 weeks and I have a full set of legendary armor, exotic gloves, and 4 exotic weapons. Everyone I run into in Crucible is sporting 1-2 exotics and yet everyone complains...

 

Honestly it makes EVERYTHING less special when the loot system hands stuff out this fast.

 

The bottom line in this is that the game is FUN and nothing else should matter. I've put almost 2 full days of playtime into this game and I'm still loving the hell out of it!

 

I haven't felt like this about a game since Call of Duty 4 or the WoW launch back in 2004.

With the Destiny app for iOS and Android I think they were trying to do a cross platform game interface. You'd earn stuff in game, and could look down at your tablet or smartphone for extra story information with a touchscreen interface.

Too bad I don't have an iOS or an Android   Something else I considered was that maybe they did that so they could connect the games by having all the lore in one place? Still, they could have just had a lore tab in each Destiny game and just redo it each time they made a new one, it was foolish not to have the lore in the game.
