Oh oh oh oh, I got an exotic bounty yesterday, but I don't know what I will get when I complete it.
I cheated and used google when I had the 3 choices. ![]()

Welp, the second step requires PvP.
Guess maybe next time.
I might have to make a montage of my Ice Breaker clips.
Do it! It's the only way I'll see an exotic in action from first-person perspective.
I finally reached level 2 reputation with New Monarchy. Now I've just got to grind about fifty crucible marks and wait for the weekend to see what exotic armour Xur has for Warlocks this time. Back to grinding reputation with the Vanguard and Crucible.
Not sure if anyone else has linked this, but this is pretty helpful if you're looking for public events.
Got my first Legendary, out of a rare engram no less.

I have a love-hate relationship with this game. I hate that it's basically one giant game of "hold off the cannon fodder as you shoot the damage sponge", but I love it because it's a really good looking and well handling version of this.
Bah, I can't play this game like Call of Duty or Halo. If I try to sink more than three hours at a time into this game, it feels tedious. It's good, but there is very little variety. I'm about to hit level 20 soon, so I guess the RNG grind is about to begin.
Attempted the raid today(Vault of Glass). Got as far as the final boss before we decided to put off the final battle until another day.
The raid is a Level 26.
Our team had one level 25, a level 27, three level 28's(one of which was me), and a level 29(Optimisticchris from here).
We had a BLAST. The raid was fun as hell. The difficulty doesn't come from raising the HP of enemies to ridiculous levels, but from overcoming challenges unique to the raid. We went through a notably difficult part without anyone being "marked" by a debuff and without wiping out thanks to teamwork.
My favorite part of the raid was a stealth section. So many lulz. During that section, we came across two hidden chests, one of which gave me a legendary raid hunter cloak called the Shattered Vault Cloak. It changes colors with shaders so WINNING!
Later today(during waking hours) if I can complete at least two Queen's Wrath missions, I should be able to disassemble the earned legendary armor rewards for ascendant shards(great way to farm shards) and then get another upgrade for my leg armor, which might push me to level 29.
Hoping for it.
Also, my luck with legendaries continues;one of the Queen's bounties required 20 head shots with hand cannons;the problem I had was that I never used them and didn't have one.
I never wanted one. Ever. But I decided to complete Vanguard bounties so I could buy a legendary hand cannon specifically for bounties and such things.
When I unlocked Rank 3 with the Vanguard, guess what I was gifted? The very hand cannon I wanted to purchase. LOLOLOLOLOL
Chris' reaction. It was worth it. ![]()
Overall, it was a good day in Destiny. The raid was the most fun I've had in Destiny ever, likely because of the teamwork required between friends to pull off some of the difficult sections. We still need to beat the final boss of the raid, but I believe we can. If Destiny can provide more content like that, I'm game.
I upgraded with the Cryptarch, got a legendary engram that decrypted into my first legendary primary.
The miracle is that it was a scout rifle. Put me in mid to long range any day of the week.
The RNG-G hath smiled upon me this day.

It indeed was a good day.
Especially when we killed the templar first try ![]()
Also my strategy for getting the Queen's Wrath missions done quick: Restart until you get Draksis, that's the easiest boss because you can blitzkrieg his face before he can shoot back or go for cover.
The Noble Shanks though, those are the real bosses of that mission.
Sounds like he should have played on PS3, where multiplayer matchmaking is free.
Managed to complete my 2nd queens mission, finally got a legendary helmet. Thinking of doing the raid this weekend as I'm finally level 26.
I'm almost there, just another good piece of armor, or some upgrades
Well, Bungie killed the Loot Cave: http://kotaku.com/bu...cave-1639154905
I was fine with that, but what rustled my jimmies was the fact that they also made it to where you don't get any ascendant materials when you dismantle Queen Legendaries, I mean, really? I now have no reason to even bother doing the Queen's Wrath missions since I have a mix of full Exotic and Legendary. For me the whole point of completing those missions was so that I could get Ascendant Shards and Energy to upgrade my Legendary's and Exotics.
I guess I'll just do the Queen Bounties to up my reputation in the hopes that she'll start selling something worthwhile in the future...

Same here.
Why would they nerf the Queen's Wrath items? That was the only way to get a reliable supply of Ascendent Shards. Well I am glad I was able to max out my Warlock's Exotic chest piece and get to lvl 28 before Bungie decided to troll us.
They also reduced loot drops if you wipe on part of a mission to replay it. Bye-bye replaying Sword of Crota and the first moon mission for loot. I'll still have to do that one for the fusion rifle bounty, because otherwise it takes forever to get enough enemies close enough for that.
I honestly think Bungie are demented and they've completely missed the point of why people were using these 'exploits'. It wasn't because it was easier or cheating, it was because their 'rewards' are so bloody awful that the only way to advance without a great deal of luck was to do these things.

Very true. If Bungie would just up the rate at which people got good drops then they wouldn't have people looking for ways to game the system.
Don't forget, he's up to the knees in Green that might as well say [Dismantle For Parts] on it
Borderlands, if you do it correctly, you can get that much in 2 minutes.
There's none of that in Destiny. There's no place we can go to get a lot of drops, there's no boss we can fight that gives out a guaranteed drop beyond some 200 glimmer reward, because, you know how useful Glimmer is after you reach level 20.
Bungie, release more expansions. Fast. Then you can remove all the stupid restrictions that you think are making the game fun longer before you fizzle out like Titanfall.
Thank God I got the ascendant shards from the Queen's missions this morning to upgrade and get to Level 29 before the patch. PHEW.
I also hit Level 1 with the Queen and thus bought her level one emblem and shader.
1000 xp to hit Level 1
3000 xp to hit Level 2
/the Queen's grind
I honestly think Bungie have totally failed to realise how easy it is to get to level 20 and then how excruciatingly tedious it is to get higher if you don't get lucky with drops. I'm not a hardcore gamer, far from it, and I never pay much attention to how to level in the most efficient ways. And yet, week one I was already level 20+, and was still on the last moon missions about to start Venus. I only did about 5 or 6 crucible matches until the weekend of week one when I started playing more of control and salvage.
They must have thought that the majority of people wouldn't even be getting into legendary gear until now. They want their game to have the staying power of MMOs and loot-heavy games like Diablo, Borderlands, Torchlight, but they've failed to understand that the grind has to come with rewards or people will either find an easier way to grind for loot or walk away. Bosses drop loot, and that's why people farm bosses that can be repeated. But not in Destiny, bosses are lucky to drop anything. As others have mentioned glimmer if virtually worthless. Why would I want to go through a strike if I can get more reputation out of patrols in the same amount of time and probably get more loot out of it?
They limited marks to 100 a week and every week I've maxed Vanguard marks and maxed Crucible last week, came close week one, and will be coming close this week if not maxing it.
Their solution to the problem of people using the loot cave was to punish the players for not playing 'the right way'. Instead they should have figured out that their loot system is messed up since it rewards people who AFK through Crucible matches instead of people actually playing the game.
And now I'm going back to grinding mats to turn into Crucible rep/marks because I hate myself.

I will say that the game has kept me hooked for 16 days straight, not many games have managed to do that, so I feel that I can't claim to be overly disappointed with it. I do admit, I bought this game to tie me over until Dragon Age: Inquisition comes out and it has lived up to that remarkably well.
A lot of Bungie's decisions for this game have left me baffled though. I think that they need to hire a couple of people who have worked on MMOs before (and have good reputations, are viewed fairly positively by gamers) so that they can get a better understanding of what they should and shouldn't do, so that they can keep this game going for a very long time.
On glimmer: I feel let down by glimmer, I was hoping that we could have up to a couple million (I wanna be a millionare dammit), but nope, 25k is the limit. I just throw it at the Cryptarch so that I can raise my level with him in the hopes that his level has some hidden effect on the game.
Interesting fact: There are a couple of people on the Gamefaq's forums claiming to have Cryptarchs that are level 27 and 28 and they still aren't getting good engrams. Because of that, I think that the Cryptarch's level is just useless fluff that was put in the game to make us feel like we were achieving something. If that is the case, I hope they do something with it in the future.
I'm level 30 with the Cryptarch. Doesn't change much by that point, but you do get good chances at legendaries from the Post Master if you level up with the Cryptarch.
