I am already trying to manage the grind in a few other games,so the events I couldn't care less for.

That would be taxing. It sounds like you are burnt out on this. This is the only game I have going for me, the only grinding I have to manage, I don't play MMO's (although I'd argue that this is one, Bungie claims differently), so grinding on the scale that I am going through is pretty much a new concept to me.

Yeah, I am grinding in Defiance and Mass Effect Multi-player. I am also on a break from FF14 which also requires tons of time for farming certain items. I am kinda done on grinding which is why I am disappointed in the amount of it needed for this game.

You might have more fun if you take a break from Defiance and Mass Effect and find something else to play/do that doesn't require grinding. Even if what you go off to do ends up being more boring than grinding, odds are you'll end up having more fun when the time comes to grind again, because grinding will look so much better in comparison to what you just did and if you have more fun doing whatever you are doing, keep doing it, you don't lose.

Edit: I had a 1-2 month period where I got completely burnt out on video games and stopped playing them altogether and when I came back to them I found them to be more amazing than before. So what I am suggesting might have some merit for you.

I know what you mean. I did take a month break from playing games. In that time, I was more bored out of my mind then ever. I'll think about it.

Also, is it under attack again. I just got booted 3 times in 5 minutes.

Glad I finished up what I wanted to do earlier and played a bit of something else. See, this is why you always kill the lizard people, nothing but trouble otherwise.

Decided to go ahead and grind all night on Strikes for the Toland's Legacy requirement, so I'd be ready tomorrow to go visit Xur and get his item for the exotic bounty. So I went and did the Summoning Pits Strike.... 14 times in a row  did it because it's the easiest and quickest if you just run through all the hoards to the end, lol. However, it's also shown me how damn selfish and worthless some of these Strikers are - it's one thing to run through all the hoards cause they ultimately don't matter and it's quite another thing to GO HIDE IN A F***ING CORNER AND DO NOTHING FOR THE ENTIRE BATTLE while the other two teammates do all the work  makes me wish there was a boot teammate function for Strikes...

Finished the Black Garden mission, since it was the Daily Challenge and wow, what a weak.... "conclusion", I guess you could call it (I refuse to call it an ending). Hopefully the story for the coming DLC are a little more refined and detailed that what we got in the main game.

Also went and did all four of my QW missions solo (just kept rebooting the mission till I got the Earth one where you search for a warp drive, lol) and the results were.... Queen's Guard Hoods. Every single time. No. F***ing. Joke.  <_<

On the plus side, I went with a friend and his buddy to try the Nightfall Weekly Challenge.... and much to my amazement, we beat it  so now not only do I have that Legendary sniper rifle that I wanted (Broken Truth-LR1, which is a friggen' beast of a sniper rifle, the scope and precision on this thing is insane, lol), I also now have blue flames around my head at the Tower and until next Tuesday, all experience (including reputation points for completing bounties) are increased by around 1/4.  :D

Also sad story, my friend got an exotic Titan helmet.... except he's a Warlock like me, lol.

The Crucible is by far the most frustrating PvP experience I have ever had in any video game ever.

I just completely suck at it.

Any suggestions?

Angry Joe decided to have a post-review discussion on Destiny. They also talk about the latest update if anyone's interested.

Being good at it doesn't matter too much as loot will drop for anyone in a match.

As for getting better, just keep playing and trying new things.

I am no fan of PvP in general, but I have been able to find enjoyment out of the occasional MP battle, but I would have to agree that Destiny's Crucible is nothing but a seething frustration whenever I try to play it.

This is really odd since the Halo MP was some of the most fun competitive play that I have had; I don't understand how Bungie could fail to make compelling vs. play. Even a carbon copy of Halo's MP would be better than what Destiny currently has, and before anyone asks, no I don't have an issue with the Supers; those are one of the few things that feel 'complete' in the Crucible gameplay.

There is no real teamwork to be found on the Crucible; even on Team specific modes like Control; everyone just casually runs off and does their own thing and the lack of any voice chat only adds to the issue. Even the aforementioned Control modes only have a vague semblance of team based tactics and most matches that I have participated in typically devolve into both teams just chasing each other around the map capturing and re-capturing the three points; no coordinated effort to actually try and defend a point.

The lack in variety of weapons and vehicles is particularly grating to me. The variety in Halo's inventory puts Destiny's to shame; sure the occasional exotic might mix things up, but for the most part everyone is running around with an auto rifle and a shotgun. The vehicle selection is even more lackluster; granted the PvP is not entirely focused around vehicular combat; but there are only 3 (4 if you count the gun turrets on the moon) drivable vehicles in the game and none of them allow more than one player to ride in them. The staple of the Halo franchise (vehicle-wise) was the Warthog and its many variations, yet we see no such thing in Destiny; every drivable item in the game seems to be focused on lone wolf play styles, only further contributing to the lack of cohesion in team play. Where are the team based vehicles? Or utility based ones like flying scouts etc?

Speaking of vehicles, has anyone else noticed that all of the Crucible maps are very, very close quarters? Even the (few) levels that support vehicles seem tiny in comparison to the Halo maps like Blood Gultch or the Spire. This is even more disappointing when every single player has access to a sparrow; I mean why allow us to use the hover bike when the even the larger maps are not even half the size that they were in Halo? The small layout of the levels is another factor in (almost) everyone's preference for the auto rifle and shotgun; its like every match is a game of zombies (a Halo game mode).

But the most frustrating thing about the Crucible has to be the after match rewards. I recently had a game where I killed the entire opposing team with my grenades; they all decided to capture the same point; after which I lead my team to victory, coming in first place by a wide margin. My reward? Nothing. Yet the worst player on our team, the one that joined in half way through the match and then was just AFK the entire game? He gets a Legendary fusion rifle.

/rant

I do enjoy Destiny's co-operative elements, but its competive play is an embarrassing step backward from Bungie (IMO).

Only if that was the only present she gave him for the last 3 Christmases and one year she bought him a really fancy and expensive bra.

New ‘Destiny’ Loot Cave Discovered: End The Grind!

Less than 24 hours after Bungie removed the “Cave of Wonders” from Destiny, players have uncovered another exploit that might even be more rewarding. YouTube channel PS4Trophies states that the Second Coming of the Cave features the same 6-second respawn timer as the original and has the the same drop rates as well.

Earned my Bad Juju pulse rifle tonight  :D Now I just gotta level the thing up, lol.  (I did buy a Pulse Rifle Telemetry item from Xur this week to increase how fast pulse rifles evolve, so that should help some)

Which is a good thing, too, cause I received my 3rd exotic bounty today as well - decided to go with the one that awards the Pocket Infinity fusion rifle (an early gift for my future Hunter, lol).

Also decided that even if the rewards currently suck royal, am still going to do the Reef Bounties and QW missions - at the very least, it'll give me extra EXP to level up my weapons and gear.

As a side note, remember how I said previously that by completing the Nightfall Challenge, your EXP increases by a 1/4 including the reputation points you earn from bounties and the EXP at the Cryptarch? Well.... it doesn't do that for ANY of the Reef bounties  <_< 100 Queen rep points is still a 100 points, not 125 points like it would with a compatible Vanguard/Crucible/guild rep bounty.... geezus, Bungie, it's like you keep giving people less and less reasons to play your damn event.

just take a shotgun crouch in a corridor or any enclosed area soon as an enemy comes near you shoot them in the face

this tactic is tried and true since call of duty 4

and don't forget those tea bags

Ah, the old shotgun in a corner trick. I can't do it. I loose patience waiting for them to come to me.

I bought it so I have it as well. Dunno how much I'll be using it since I can't have it equipped with Ice Breaker simultaneously.

Still, I'm hype. Today's the day my team continues the raid and attempts to take down Atheon, its final boss.
