Beat Atheon today pretty quickly with my team but I didn't get the chatterwhite shader, I got a legendary ship instead.

 

Everyone else got the shader. 

 

We're planning to run through it in its entirety in one go this Tuesday.

Got bored on my level 26 Hunter (and the legendary pants don't match with the rest of the set) so I went back to my (now level 25) Warlock which now has almost a full set of legendary armor (yay for previous faction grinding).

Well, there is a god in this game world apparently, cause after getting that damn Queen's Guard Hood 12 times in a row, I finally finally managed to get something other than a helmet or chest armor in a Queen's Wrath mission - The Supremacy, a Legendary sniper rifle that does a sh*t-ton of damage (even not upgraded, it does more than my 3/4 upgraded Broken Truth) and is the only weapon I have that does Arc damage. 

 

Also got both my Vanguard and Crucible reputation to Rank 3 yesterday, found out that once you get a faction/guild to Rank 3 you'll get a package at the postmaster with some accendent materials and a random Legendary item (no BS like the Cryptarch, it IS a guaranteed Legendary) - got a new Legendary shotgun called the Comedian and a Legendary Titan arm armor. Interestingly, when I equip the Comedian, I now get this ghostly light-blur on my Warlock when the character runs, lol.

 

Found out that when you equip the Queen's shader or emblem to increase Reef bounty by 10% each, that if you equip both that they'll stack on each other (meaning you'll get 20% more rep points instead of just 10%).

 

I'm also really hoping that Bungie does some decent upgrading to the Bad Juju in the next patches, cause right now it just sucks - with it's magazine I can only get 5 shots (mag is 15, but like all pulse rifles, it fires in 3-round bursts) on an enemy and the gun will auto-reload it but only if you kill an enemy (so if those 5 shots don't kill it, you still gotta reload manually). That versus my version of Strange Suspect, with has better stability and impact, does increased precision damage after doing a body shot, gives damage bonus on reload after a kill, and gives me 14 shots on its magazine (42 rounds), it's a rather weak exotic weapon.

Friend tells me Bad Juju is better for minion work rather than any of the heavies in the game. It looks cool, atleast. I had a choice of that, Thorn, and Invective yesterday - went with Invective, and I don't regret it one bit. Now if only I can get the Shattered Memory Fragment and An Unknown Patron exotic bounty, I'll be set.

Just went clutch as fuuuh in a game of Salvage with randoms

 

We were down by over 2000 points for a good portion of the game

 

Towards the latter part we started making a comeback

 

Enemy is capping the last point before time runs out, I stop them and cap it

 

Now we have to hold it

 

Enemies are constantly incoming trying to stop us

 

We repel them(in my case with Suros Regime and Golden Gun)

 

With less than ten seconds left on the clock in overtime, we passed them in score, hit the 10,000 point mark, and won the game

Those medals at the end were:

 

Nail In The Coffin- Score the winning points in a match

 

The Best...Around- Achieve the highest score in a match while leading your team to victory

 

Zero Hour- Win a match in overtime

 

Clutch- Win a match after trailing with 2 seconds remaining(dunno about the 2 seconds, it was more like 7 seconds, but still a clutch)

Well congrats to LP on icebreaker something a sniper like me could do with about now for the final leg of the thorn bounty. Yesh trying to solo my lvl 25 hunter through the summoning pits to get to Xyor the unwed is proving rather ....frustrating to put it politely. Still after the hoops I've gone through already to get to this point can't turn back now aspecialy after going through the pvp section(gumble) still it would have been nice of bungie to give me the option to call in some randoms to help with the strike aspecialy with those blooming wizards.

 

Guess back to luck and a heavy dose of grinding to raise him up a lvl or two to see if it makes a difference

I've given up on three exotic bounties over the past week. I don't like pvp at the best of times so there's no way I'm putting myself through the hell these bounties are asking for. Everyone who has done exotic bounties, you are far better people than I.

Prefectly understandable considering the rather labour intense 'trials' they make you go through.. chore may be another word. Makes the trails of Hercules seem rather tame. But when something isn't fun to do than it rather defeats the purpose of the game which is well ....to have fun and I'am long past the days of having the interest or time to play the grinding game which I did in my youth on countless rpgs.

 

Still despite all that I'm damned if I'm not going after completing that Thorn bounty come hell or high water at this point plus I have a thing for revolvers and sniper rifles and I do need a shiny new exotic revolver to do the bigger challenges that lay ahead.

It doesn't look like the 2 announced DLC is going to add all that much, I might just skip out on it. Also, Bungie, are you kidding me?

In the first expansion they are already trying to bring back the heart we killed in the final mission. Seriously, let's wait a few expansions before any sort of resurrection plots involving enemies we have already fought and killed.

 

 

Edit: What the bug/leak really means is that all of this stuff was already in the games files and fairly finished at the least.

Helped Vroom with that last night and even after calling in a 3rd guy to help out, it was still a fricken' PITA - had to fall back on a strategy I learned when I tried with a few guys to take the Nightfall Summoning Pits (and we got stomped into dust on that damn thing, lol). Fortunately, the strategy worked and Vroom was able to get the last component for Thorn.

Helped Vroom with that last night and even after calling in a 3rd guy to help out, it was still a fricken' PITA - had to fall back on a strategy I learned when I tried with a few guys to take the Nightfall Summoning Pits (and we got stomped into dust on that damn thing, lol). Fortunately, the strategy worked and Vroom was able to get the last component for Thorn.

Yeah, the total time was 2 hours and 18 minutes according to the mission report. Hands down the hardest mission in the game with the exception of the Vault of Glass.

Well I've watched a few videos of people doing a solo through it, it seems to to be a case of run through the corridors and having the right weapons namely flame for wizards and frost for the rest. Sniping with plenty of ammo packs seems to be the best course for me without the squad option open. I'll get there as I said I've gone through too much already and if I can get through pvp section of the bounty then I'm going to do this by hook or by crook.

But from the looks of it, unless those 4-5 missions are very heavily story-based and go all out on doing different things rather than more "Ghost scans a thing and you hold off waves of enemies", I'm going to pass on the expansions.

That's how I feel. Honestly, I was hoping for more planets (I'm looking at you, Jupiter and Saturn, never Uranus though). The raids mean nothing to me, because I don't have a mic and I could get three-four people together at best. Why pay for something when I can't do the main meat of the content? I bet all the story missions will just have us through locations we have already visited anyway. I'm holding out for space combat and new planets. I get the feeling that Bungie will eventually increase the level cap by letting us wear more than one piece of Exotic gear, they just have that in place so that they can control the cap for now.

So. Got it. Enjoying it so far, except that I seem to have made a habit of being kicked off in the middle of any given mission. Oy vey.

 

As I'm familiar with MMO's from SWTOR and other quest-centric XP systems, I spent most of my first day working on bounties, including Crucible bounties... way, way to early. I was nearly level 20 before I finished the moon, and aren't even through Venus yet. Probably not the best plan for taking it as it comes- especially since low-level gear and limited class abilities makes the Crucible a ***** to fight through.

 

Trying to grind factions, but probably just going to go with Vanguard at this time. Leave the Crucible factions for another playthrough. How long is the Queen event going to run? I'm doing the daily bounties in hopes of getting some of her legendary gear, but I'm stuck at 20 and too low for her strikes so I may not make it to level 2 in time. Unless I'm missing something?
