So. Got it. Enjoying it so far, except that I seem to have made a habit of being kicked off in the middle of any given mission. Oy vey.

 

As I'm familiar with MMO's from SWTOR and other quest-centric XP systems, I spent most of my first day working on bounties, including Crucible bounties... way, way to early. I was nearly level 20 before I finished the moon, and aren't even through Venus yet. Probably not the best plan for taking it as it comes- especially since low-level gear and limited class abilities makes the Crucible a ***** to fight through.

 

Trying to grind factions, but probably just going to go with Vanguard at this time. Leave the Crucible factions for another playthrough. How long is the Queen event going to run? I'm doing the daily bounties in hopes of getting some of her legendary gear, but I'm stuck at 20 and too low for her strikes so I may not make it to level 2 in time. Unless I'm missing something?

The Queen's Wrath event ends on October 6th, I get the feeling that she'll be back in the future and our gained rep will be preserved.

Really disappointed that the two new raids are LVL28. Bungie doesn't realize that only a small percentage of players actually get to experience a raid, and that's despite the complete lack of matchmaking. One of the new raids should've been atleast LVL24, so that even if you're absolutely unlucky with drops you could still get in with LVL20 rare gear. Alas.

So here is a question. With the nerf to shotguns and auto rifles for PvP, what weapons are they planning on buffing? The maps are too small for anything other then CQC weapons.

I believe scout rifles were mentioned, but as with sniper rifles the maps are generally too close quarters to be effective with them. I think it was mentioned here before, but all of the PvP maps (no matter the size) usually devolve into close quarters which makes it difficult to use long range weapons (unless you're good at "shotgunning" with them).

 

I'd like hand cannons to get a bit of a buff. Granted, it usually only takes 3 shots to kill someone with one, but you're usually dead because of assault rifles or shotguns. The only time I ever use my hand cannon is in PvE since it's one of the easier weapons to headshot enemies with.

 

Pulse rifles also should get a buff, I think that was also mentioned as receiving a buff, since you're also usually out shot by AR's/shotguns. You also seem to have to reload far more with pulse rifles than any other primary weapon as well.

That is the only reason I use the AR/Shotgun combo. It is the only effective way of fighting on those small maps. If the maps were bigger like in BF2 size, I would then be using a Sniper Rifle. As it is now, those type of weapons aren't the best.

Got my 4th exotic bounty today and since I had already done 2 out of the 3 already, I was left to take the bounty for Thorn... the crazy, ridiculously-insane quest for Thorn  wouldn't be so terrible except for the Crucible grinding (none of my weapons do void damage) and that f***ed-up mess on the lvl 26 Summoning Pits and Xyor 

 

Decided to save my current Rare engrams and my current Cryptarch mail package (the one you always get for increasing the Cryptarch level by one) till tomorrow when the engram changes go live. That way, at least if my mail package actually has a Legendary engram in it, I'll make sure to actually get Legendary gear out of it lol.

Cayde keeps sending me out here to scout the entrance to the devil's lair, so I have to keep soloing the damn devil walker. I think he's trying to get me killed.

 

After getting a legendary engram a while back I went to try my luck at the Cryptarch (this was before the patch was known about). It turned into a level 16 rare, I was level 26 at the time.

I'm dancing on your glowy, techy, thing, stupid Vex.

 

Getting close to that legendary gear, just grinding the rep and the marks.

Maybe if we all rush her from behind we can nick the Queen's legendaries.

 

Finally the day came when I was able to buy my legendaries, and the Warlock exotic helmet from Xur. Woooo!

I also spent some of my motes of light on the helmet engram Xur was selling and got another Warlock helmet. Not as good upgrades so I'm not using it but it looks so cool.

 

My weapon of choice is a machine gun.

Ok, so far I've gotten four rare ships and I've got to say, I'm not impressed. These are supposed to rare, but they're more boring than bloody commons.

 

 

 

It's like they spent so much time making the uncommons so colourful that they just shoved these in at the end and "ehh, screw it."

 

And now back to grinding for the Queen's rep. If the event ends and the reputation just disappears I'm gonna be pissed.

Can confirm that getting up to Rank 3 for one of the guilds (Future War Cult, Dead Orbit, and New Monarchy) will also give a package at the postmaster containing accendent materials and/or a Legendary item, just like it will for Vanguard and Crucible reputation - got FWC up to Rank 3 tonight and got a package (just a strange coin and accendent energy this time, lol).

Bungie claims it is fake and the Reddit Mods deleted it, however it matches up with what your article says. Apparently, a bunch of different egos in the studio got in the way of each other and there was an argument, the argument being that a lot of players would be turned off by story (dumb). The end result was that most of the story was removed (apparently each race had their own starting point, the one we have now is the Exos, they were all condensed to it. Only Awoken Characters were supposed to visit the Reef), another reason things were removed was because some proposed that the story could be sold off as DLC, however large parts of the game required rewrites because it now didn't make sense. The background of the planets we can visit, large portions of that were visitable and a couple of planets were also cut from release and is being retooled for selling as DLC.

 

Make of it what you will and believe what you will. I'm not sure what to believe myself, but the claims add up and because of that, maybe Bungie will make more story in the future. The link I posted has a bunch of information that I haven't covered, because there is a lot there.
