Anyway, this morning I've hit Rank 2 with The Queen. Bought the class item(the cloak in my case), and completed some more bounties of hers.
I'm already a fourth of the way to Rank 3 and I haven't completed the headshot bounties in the Crucible for her.
Also, thank goodness for this but Rank 3 requires the same amount of exp that Rank 2 required, 3000 to level up.
So I think I'll be hitting Rank 3 with The Queen before The Iron Banner replaces her Emissary.
Bungie can claim whatever they like, but they have been thoroughly busted. The AMA just fits perfectly in the plot-sized hole in destiny. It makes perfect sense for an Exo char to wake up on earth after a few centuries, they were there during the golden age and presumably fought during the collapse. But why was my awoken titan there? The bloody awoken didn't even exist during the collapse!
It's scary to think that someone, somewhere actually believes that exchanging a clearly superior story and playspace for a nearly non-existant one is a good move. And its even scarier to find gamers on bungie boards going on how stories don't matter and mindless grinding is the greatest thing ever. *shakes head* I truly hope that Destiny is not the shape of things to come for gaming...

Same. Thankfully it's only 3000, like you said. I've saved the two crucible bounties of hers this entire time. Hopefully we can get to Rank 3 in these next 3 days. Though I'm still disappointed there's no Queen's Guard arm and leg armor. I'll probably have to wait until the next event of hers to have a full set maxed out, and my Warlock at 29 1/2.

So, I am curious. How many people have bought the expansion pass? If so, then what led you to that decision? If not, then why didn't you?
It honestly felt like too much of a rip-off to me. Especially considering that campaign mode that we did get. This basically feels like Mass Effect 3's MP mode with a PvP mode attached to it. Just grinding and grinding with your friends on the same levels vs. the same enemies. Only difference is, Mass Effect 3 had a plot you didn't have to pay extra for four months after release. What do you guys think? Am I being too harsh?

The expansion raids are both level 28, and one of them has modifiers. I mean damn.

I got the Limited Edition version of Destiny, so the expansion passes came as part of the LE content.
Anyone know when or if the engram patch goes live today? I have 15 Rare engrams saved up for it, lol.

While I am in no way advocating that video games ditch the story, but I do find it rather fascinating that story is really secondary to sound gameplay. Games are the only media (alongside film, television, novels, comics, etc.) that don't have to completely rely on story to sell.
Destiny, does suffer from a lack of a coherent plot, as well as other elements (crucible, engrams, etc.) but the core gameplay is solid. I would obviously prefer a story with my game (I am a BioWare fan after all), but its funny to look at video games as a medium and see how plot is not as crucial to the product as other media.
With that meta overlook at the game market in general out of the way: Destiny's story (or lack thereof) really does suck.

Haha that's not true (I've already hit 29, so, yeah, just not with Queen's Guard gear). It's true for LVL30, though.
EDIT: nvm you meant past the final upgrade of your 3rd leg piece of gear, in which case, yeah, that's true. Technically there's no hitting 30 unless you have 3 pieces of raid gear and one exotic, or all 4 pieces of raid gear.

If you're LVL28 you can join my clan today or for the rest of the week. We bang out the Raid, Nightfalls, and Weekly/Daily Heroics pretty fast, but there has to be even numbers when we do it. I say that because we've had a couple of guys, including myself, playing the strikes multiple times last week on account of one or two guys missing out the first time, and it's a taxing process.

I've not bought it. I was considering it to begin with, but that was before I actually started playing Destiny itself. With the story as cut up and non-existent as it is, I simply cannot buy it on promises and faith. I'm waiting for detailed reviews from lots of sources (ones that have played through all the content it offers, baring the raids which I'm unlikely to ever do and will actually speak to what substance that content has) before I make a decision.
Plus they're charging £34.99 here in the UK, which I believe is the same price in dollars. Clearly activision have not heard of this thing called the exchange rate. Unless they change the price closer to the release in December that's a big sticking point regardless of the quality of the expansion.

Finally got a legendary 2ndry weapon from the queen's bounty. Now I just need some exotic armor for my Titan.

I am also on X1, but honestly I want to hold off on a raid until I can get all Legendary weapons and an Exotic weapon, and possibly fully upgrade my Legendary gear.
I'm the type that over prepares a lot in games that require leveling.
I was the kid in Pokemon who refused to face the Elite Four unless his team had type advantages and were level 100.
I almost can't believe what happened. I got a rare secondary engram, went and decrypted it, and it turned into a legendary shotgun! Hide and Seek-42. Praise be to Yevon er, the Traveler!

No idea, but I've been having problems with the Vanguard missions all day on X1 and my connection has been fine.
Completed the raid today with my team again. This time we did it in full with no putting it off for another day. Some breaks in between, took us about an hour and a half.
By the end of it I got the chatterwhite shader(so now the whole team matches shaders) and I also got a legendary raid rocket launcher.
Other than that I just got a ton of ascendant shards and some energy.
*gets off the Bonus Voices MAGES. Grindstone*
I should be able to be in a comfortable enough position to try the raid with some people by next week.
Finished a control match, got a 3.5 kill to death ratio and was rewarded with..........nothing. The update can't come sooner enough.
