I am almost in full Legendary gear(body wise) with just my arm slot missing which I'll get tomorrow since I hit rank 2 in vanguard today. The Truth also dropped for me from an engram. I just need to get the 25 motes for the cape from the Travelers voice and my 2 other weapons, and then I am set.

So I finally beat the Vault of Glass. I got Hard Light twice during the run, which kinda sucked. And I got the same pair of Raid Set boots twice, along with a bunch of Ascendant Materials. Kinda disappointing loot, but the Chatter White Shader is really nice.

I didn't name it yesterday but the raid-rocket launcher I got is called Hezen Vengeance.

 

As for today, I heavily increased my reputation with The Queen, so much that I'm guaranteed to hit Rank 3 tomorrow and get the second shader and emblem.

 

This makes me happy.

Reread the plans for the newest engram patch, only to realize that the changes will only affect engrams that are received AFTER the patch..... so I was hoarding 31 Rare engrams for no damn reason  On the plus side, I rose two ranks under the Cryptarch after decoding all of them, lol.

 

Earned my 5th exotic bounty, decided to go after the Super Good Advice machine gun since that was the only 1 out of the 3 choices I hadn't done yet.... they better come out with new exotic bounties or make exotic armor bounties soon, cause I'm going to run out of new exotic bounties to do very quickly.

 

Had a strange thought the other day, but am I the only one who wishes the grenades that dregs throw could also damage themselves, like how in Halo if a grunt dropped a grenade it would blow themselves up? lol

 

Am also still looking for a group to do the Raid with on PS4 (haven't heard from the one guy looking to do it in about a week) - my PSN handle is AVPen, same as my username.

Do rumble with a void shotgun, it's what I did. You don't have to worry as much about getting ganged since it is everyone for themselves.

I did Skirmish with a Comedian void shotgun (had to grind a few Strike Playlists to get the Vanguard marks to buy it first), took me about an afternoon.

 

FYI, why is it when I play either Skirmish or Salvage, I get the dumbest, most idiotic teammates during the match?  I swear, these dipsh*ts don't have a clue how to play either mode (at least I managed to get the Relic Hunter achievement during last weekend's Salvage).

I've only had 2 good teams out of the 7 to 9 games of Salvage that I've played, I feel your pain. I have had it to where both teammates have run off in opposite directions, to where they went to attack players instead of capturing the relics and to where they wouldn't revive me when I was right next to them and the relic (thus leading to the loss of said relic). Control mode is my preferred mode because teamwork isn't as big of a deal and I don't have to worry about getting a craptastic team.

Teamwork is something which is very hit and miss in the pvp I've found. I'm not a good player, but there have been times where I've honestly wondered what in the hell is wrong with some of the players. Then there have been the rare occasions where you get a team that works together (even in modes like clash where it's not totally necessary) and you can end up dominating even with lower level players and people who don't have as good gear.

 

Also the matchmaking can cause problems, especially in the 3v3 modes where you need everyone to pull their weight or at least try. Last weekend I did a bunch of salvage to get the achievement and I kept ending up on teams with two low level players over 14 or lower against three guys 25+ and I can't carry a team on my own. The only time we did well was when we worked together and watched each others backs, rather than people running off to lone wolf.

 

There are too many one shot kill weapons in the pvp to play on your own if you want the team to win.

I decrypted 4 Rare Engrams I got today.

 

3 Motes of Light and a Strange Coin. Either that is extraordinarily unlucky or Engrams are going to do that to us now.

 

Which, considering Xur, I'd be okay with, not thrilled, but okay with.

 

Oh, and strikes now guarantee a engram.

Well, the patch is live now... and Bungie f***ed me!   Apparently their "All high engrams will be converted to Rares" BS ALSO applied to the unopened Cryptarch packages at the postmaster, those f***ers   ever package I saved without opening were all Rare engrams, which also just had Rare gear. To rub extra salt in the wound, I went up another Cryptarch level after the patch went live, got another package at the postmaster and.... more fricken' Rare engrams....

 

And the patch seems to be live. Not got anything to decrypt yet so I can't speak to whether things have improved.

Oh, the Cryptarch is still an a**hole, no question about that - you just get Rares instead of Uncommons, lol.

Damn you Bungie, damn you! Yeah, I had a package from the Cryptarch I'd forgotten about too, and I got two rares. Most often I would get at least one legendary in those packs, just it would turn into a rare before. It's actually been over a week since I've seen a legendary engram drop in the game. If I hadn't gotten lucky with that rare the other day I'd have to grind marks to buy all my legendary weapons, instead of just most of them.

 

Ugh, and I've still got half of my daily Queen's bounty to headshot 200 Fallen to finish. If my maths is right I'll only need to do the non-pvp bounties tomorrow and then one of them on Friday and I'll reach rank 2. That's all I want, to reach rank 2 and buy the class item and one of the weapons as a memento, then I can put Destiny aside to play Shadow of Mordor (comes out Friday in the UK).

Rare Engrams drop Legendaries way more often, and with a Tiger Strike, I've gotted 2 legendaries just today.

Well good luck with the thorn bounty I'm still stuck at the tail end of the bounty having to do the lvl 26 summoning pits run with no backup still. Tried solo and came close but the number in the final chamber are to much so I probaly end up sitting on the bounty. I've already have two other exotic bounties so waiting on xur to turn up for one and the other is the 5 strikes without dying. Damn I want that handcannon lol. But it's great to see everyone else doing so well despite my poor luck.
